The toilet and shower facilities were always kept to an exceptional standard with hot water at all times. Very peaceful campsite, would recommend and visit again.

Fantastic campsite. Really friendly and helpful staff, quiet, modern and clean facilities. Lots of drinking water taps around the site. Would happily stay here again!

The grounds are spacious and we liked that we could chose our own spot. It was very peaceful and also secure. The showers and toilets were very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed watching the moorhens, they were sweet and entertaining. The old farm machinery was interesting.

A little bit far from everything

1). More space per pitch on the allocated (serviced) area of the site than I've ever seen in my life before. I've been camping for 60 years.
2). The ability to pitch wherever you liked if you didn't want any electrical provision.
3). The quality of the ground for camping on: level with a good grass density.
4). The cleanliness of the toilets and showers - the best I've ever seen.
5). The attention to detail. Even the ends of the heater covers in the toilets and showers (which you can only see - just about - when you're sitting on the loo!) have the Yellowtail Camping logo carved out of them!
6). The friendliness of the farmer and his staff.

1). Despite the astronomical price of a night's stay at this site, there is no hot water in the washing-up area; you have to boil your water at your tent or caravan and take it with you to one of the two washing-up stations. At this price, this is inexcusable. The lack of hot water is presumably because all hot water available at the washbasins and showers on the site is provided by instantaneous water heaters which are notoriously slow at delivering water - you'd be waiting several minutes for a washing-up bowl to fill up, and by then the water in the bowl would have started getting cold. I have camped on other sites costing far less where plentiful hot water is provided at all basins and washing up stations by a propane gas boiler.
2). The instantaneous water heaters feeding the washbasins in the two showers fed only lukewarm water at best.
3). For a site this large I would expect more toilet and shower facilities. Four unisex toilets (two of them in the two shower rooms so cannot be used while someone else is using the shower) do not seem like enough. Fortunately, when we camped here there were only about a dozen other units, so this wasn't a problem for us
4). The views mentioned by others are lovely - but you can't see them if you are on a serviced pitch. Only the non-serviced pitches at the top of a gentle slope can see over the tents and caravans on the serviced pitches (and the hedge behind them) to the views beyond. On our serviced pitch our view was simply the rest of the campsite on the other side of a lovely bank of wild flowers blooming in July. If we had turned the tent round in the direction of the view we would have had a very good view of a six foot high hedge comprising chiefly brambles.
5). Others have mentioned the peace and quiet. We were on site for four full days and could often hear vehicles and trains, especially in the late evenings when motor-cyclists seemed to be racing their noisy machines up the nearby road.
6). The price, especially when you consider that here isn't even a reception, let alone a receptionist here to pay.
