It made us question whether it was actually on a flood plain or river bed. The water seemed to rise up from the ground. There has been a lot of rain recently so it may be worse than usual. The campsite manager was very helpful and pulled all of our cars out of the mud with his tractor.
Many thanks for your comments about the sites location. The rain this spring has been unprecedented, some sites have not been able to open at all. We are certainly not in a river bed and are outside any flood plain. Most of our site has been useable and we have been advising people where to pitch and on hand with the tractor if needed and we still had a busy and enjoyable bank holiday weekend on the field. We next open end of June for Tankfest and the ground condition should have resolved itself by then. If readers look back at older reviews they will see this is not normal for our site but the result of exceptional weather conditions.

The loos were always very clean with plenty of loo roll and hand sanitiser. The family running the site were friendly and welcoming and always around if there were any questions. The firepits were great! We would definitely return again.

Loved that you could borrow a fire pit and good quality fire wood for sale as well. Toilets and showers was nice and clean - warm showers as well. Good location for a vast amount of beautiful things to see. Will definitely return again one day.
