Beautiful location next to Bala Lake with walks all around and a steam train experience next door. Bala town is a short drive or stroll away and offers shops and takeaways.
Lovely small, spacious dog friendly site. Staff are very friendly and helpful and there's a small shop on site. Pitches are flat and well maintained. Newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities are well planned out and kept clean and in the centre of the site so no long walks to the loo. I love that there's separate sink cubicles in the female facilities to wash your face and clean your teeth in private, and the shower cubicles have an extra section with a seat and plenty of wall hangers to keep your things dry when using the shower.Unbeliebt: On this 2nd visit the female toilets were very warm and smelled strongly of sewage, however in contrast my boyfriend mentioned the male toilets were cold because the skylights were open all the time. I had to use my deodorant spray to give some respite from the odour when I used the facilities. Our other dislike is that there's no aerial connection on the pitches and although WiFi is advertised the signal was extremely weak so unusable, so we used our mobile data hotspot to watch some TV before bed.
Good Morning Nichola - we're so glad you've chosen to come back to visit for a second time and hopefully not the last! Thank you for all the lovely comments about the site; it means the world to us when someone enjoys the site as much as we enjoy working here!
With regards to the amenity block, we are working to balance the heating in the men's and women's toilets - please bear with us while we try and get this right, but we do agree - the ladies is a bit too warm and the men's not quite warm enough. The skylights are open for ventilation in the men's as the steam can build up in there sometimes. What I'm trying to say is, we are aware of this and striving to get the balance right! The sewage smell will more than likely be due to the emptying of the tank at the time you were there, and the smell carrying into the amenity block - unfortunate timing for you, but a necessary job that has to be carried out (there's never a 'good' time...)
