We loved the whole experience at Dall cottage. It was fantastic getting away from it all. Nice and peaceful but also good that some other campers around. We can’t wait to get back. The family that have the place were so nice and friendly. Honesty box for firewood wee bags were made up with marshmallows and chocolate for toasting. Me and my daughter in law and Cameron the dug had a fabulous wee night.

Remote and slightly 'wild'. Campers should be aware that you'll need to cross a ford in the River Garry or ring and ask the site to collect you in their 4x4. It all adds to the fun.

Would have been nice to have had somewhere to wash other than the shower hut.

Everything about Dall Cottage Camping is fantastic. Beautiful location, well looked after pitches, great facilities. Hosts were great and made sure I was happy and settled. Thoroughly enjoyed my camp and I will 100% be back with my dog (who loved it too!).

Great wee campsite, plenty of space between pitches with the added bonus of a firepit at each pitch. They sell firewood, kindling, bottled water and a few other things in the honesty shop next to the compost loos, which is really handy. There is a water tap but it's not drinking water. We brought a decent filter and were boiling water anyway, so just used the tap water that way. No issue crossing the river in wellies, though it was very low when we went. The owners are really helpful if you need a lift over in their army truck though. It's a peaceful place, so don't spoil it. We had respectful neighbours for the most part, but one family had an excitable dog that wouldn't stop barking. Having a policy of no music is wonderful, especially if you prefer birdsong and the river flowing by. You do get the odd train passing by, and you can hear some of the heavier vehicles along the A9, but unless you're an exceptionally light sleeper you'd probably not notice. We've recommended this campsite to friends already, and this was our second stay.

Absolutely loved this site! I stayed alone for my first solo camping trip with my dog and felt very comfortable here. Arrival including a lift over the river was super easy and the owners are really friendly. The campsite is so pretty and quiet. For a 'semi-wild' site the facilities are amazing, everything maintained beautifully and the toilet/shower were excellent, it was all so well looked after and pristinely clean - nicest composting toilet I've ever come across.
I walked back over the river the next day with my things and that was equally straightforward and fun. Can't wait to return!

Loved everything about this campsite - generously spaced pitches along the river, level ground and the sound of the river garry to fall asleep to.
The owner was really friendly, and after giving directions by phone, came along to say Hi and check that everything was ok.
Carrying my stuff across the ford was very fun! The river wasn't high, mid-high shin depth, but i was glad I'd brought walking poles and water shoes to steady me. There's a grassy spot by the river to leave a car.
I had a water filter with me so was able to use water from the river. Be aware that otherwise it's bottled drinking water if you haven't brought your own. Cash / bank transfer at the shop. There is a tap near the toilet huts but it isn't for drinking.
The compost loo was a pleasure to go into and use. Super clean, with fairy lights at night!
Although it's not far from the A9 and there was the distant sound of traffic, and the odd train, I didn't find it at all intrusive. The main sounds were birds calling, and the sound of the river.
Just a perfect spot - would highly recommend.
