Really lovely campsite, beautifully kept in all areas and bonus community kitchen space. Great location next to a lake and forest and lots of nice walks around. The photos on here do not do it justice. Loved it here and we’ll be back!

Everything, a really lovely campsite and area. Liked the communal kitchen and indoor seating area. Liked that you could pick your own pitch. Park owners were very friendly and offered lots of info on the area

Nothing to dislike

Dave is a great host. We stayed for bank holiday weekend, and our holiday was nothing short than great.
The park is very well looked after, in a nice secluded forest close to Colemere lake (the walk starts literally from the campsite).
What impressed me most is the tranquility and large secluded large pitches.
Dave also took us around to pick our pitch from what was available(even on bank holiday weekend) -other places don't tend do this.
We booked the hot tub for an extra fee - and would recommend to others. It's private and next to a pond.
A great addition was also the countryside breakout area.
I noticed some people in other reviews found paying for the fire pits £15 is too much - it's not especially when you look at the price of how much you pay per night. We stayed in campsites more expensive and received less!
We'll be back!

Lovely peaceful site. Pitched up in a spacious area of your own choosing with parking next to your tent.

If need the communal area was perfect with us of the Wi-Fi

Showers and toilets where clean

This was a perfect base for us to do our activities. 15 minutes away from alderford lake to swim and paddle board or Hamner lake to swim. Cut through Colemere and can walk down into Ellesmere along the canal or walk towards Lyneal for the sun pub or a further adventure to Wixal Marina.

Perfect weekend away

Only very slim downside was the showers when I used them was that the water was cold/ to lukewarm but I used them later on in the morning

One of the most attractive and spacious sites we have stayed on. We received a warm welcome and were able to choose our own pitch, which was a pretty secluded spot next to a small pond. We were there during the bank holiday weekend and it didn’t feel crowded. There are lovely walks from the site around the lake and along the canal. The site was well cared for with good facilities with the option of a fire pit and hot tub (not used by us).

Another lovely visit here. One of my favourite sites. It's very peaceful and nice walks if you fancy venturing out. The communal hut is my favourite thing as it's a great place to watch some TV, play games, and chat to other campers - very cosy and nice touches from the owners. Dave is a gem! Always there to greet you and even helped us as indecisive campers find a spot! He's always about making people are happy and facilities are clean. When we went there were some noisy campers and he kept his eye on them, asking them to keep it down. The facilities are kept clean. Love the charm of this place!

Absolutely loved this site! So beautifully landscaped - plots large and in separate areas - all very quiet and peaceful. Toilets and showers clean and very nicely maintained. Friendly welcome with a helpful information sheet on arrival. Great setting with access to walks around the lakes and canal from the site. We enjoyed a long walk to Ellesmere - such a lovely town with independent shops and places to buy locally sourced food (plus a Tesco and Coop). Another longish walk to the pub (The Sun Inn) but food and ale worth it!

Nothing

Very well kept, quirt site with gorgeous grounds including pond, hot tub for hire and mature gardens. Communal room such a bonus with use of fridge, freezer, utensils, crockery/glasses etc, comfortable sofas and heating if needed (for a recommended donation of £2) Camping field on two levels with a mix of electric / non electric pitches ...no allocated pitches giving you a choice. Bathroom facilities adequate with many additional features, toiletries, hairdryer etc. Owners very helpful and always on hand for recommendations, help and anything really! Lots of great walks from the campsite and close enough to Ellesmere to walk to the pub ! Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency but we were offered 2 nights to carry over to another date which was thoughtful and very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend this site.

Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Second stay in a month. We love the campsite for what it is. It’s relaxing, clean and very friendly. We will hopefully be staying again soon.
