Peaceful, secluded and fantastic walk around the mere. We only stayed for one night as a test run for our new van, and we’re so glad we came here! Definitely be returning.

It’s a quiet place which we needed at that time, some lovely walks nearby. A decent communal room.

It’s too expensive for what it is. We paid £24 for one night in our campervan without EHU. So we basically got the use of a field for that and in October that’s not value for money. No shop, no pubs nearby, nothing really.

We Liked the idyllic location right next to the Mere. Owners are very friendly and explain everything on arrival, providing a map of all the walks in the area.
The Campsite is very well laid out and is stunning. The communal area is an excellent idea and very cosy. If the weather is on the poor side, this is a must. Hot clean showers and a lovely walk down the canal into Ellesmere.

If anything at all it would be the pitches are on a slight slope however did not impact stay at all

Lovely fields with woods and mere nearby. Plots were well spaced out. We chose one further away from facilities so it was really peaceful. There is a really homely communal kitchen and space where you can relax and the toilets and showers were great - felt like you weren't on a camp site at all!

Great small site in a fab location. Really good and clean toilets and showers. Also added bonus was the indoor kitchen area where you could sit and have a drink! Friendly site owners. Lovely walks nearby and a great pub about a 45 minute walk away!

The helpfulness and friendlyness of the owners. He gave us a tour of the site and was very approachable if we needed help with anything.

Pitches were well distanced from everyone else which offered a bit of privacy.

He also gave us a map of the the area with a list of things to do and the distances which we used all weekend.

The campsite was clean with all amenities including a microwave.

The prettiest campsite I’ve ever visited and very near the lake behind.

That the water was right behind another person’s pitch. Fortunately they were friendly so were not bothered by us collecting water from behind their tent.

There were insufficient toilets (2 ladies and 1 family toilet) and I had to line up a number of times on the weekend and wait a long time.

WiFi only available near the amenities.
