Location, easy access to the Lake District. Beautiful woods and red squirrels. Enjoyed evenings at the pub on site

Receptionist Michelle on arrival was very friendly and helpful, really nice. The lady from South Africa was also helpful. The location is excellent, walks and bike rides are great. Pub was very friendly and well stocked. Getting a taxi into town can be difficult but maybe this was because it’s summer, and weather was great.

Really lovely site, beautiful surroundings and very welcoming. Great facilities- pub, shop, games room, 3 parks for kids, a river for plodding in and a lovely walk through the woods and two toilet/shower block that are well kept and clean. Have been 4 times and would ago again and again.

Kids loved the park. Aldi and other supermarkets are within a 10 minute drive which was super handy. Staff all super friendly. Incredible walks nearby, we had a lovely few nights away. We would definitely visit again.

It would have been good if the bar did food in the evening, especially on the rainy days, but understandable if it’s not possible.
Some activities for the children would also be great, especially in school holidays.
The pitch was on a bit of a slant, which made it quite slippery in the rain as it was also very muddy, but couldn’t be helped… that’s the rains fault!

Slight more variety in the shop to buy. Not able to buy food to cook - only sausages and bacon. Limited choice.

I like the location. Pitches was a good size the site was massive really enjoyed all the areas

Toilet could do with a revamp

The shower and toilet blocks were well equipped and comfortable.
The surrounding site area is lovely for a walk, especially by the river.
There is a shop which provides hot food, and a pub for drinks.
Spacious individual pitches.
Nice overall feel.

The site did feel very busy, and it was a little noisy later on in the evening with people arriving late, dogs barking and older children out on their bikes. This may not bother everyone but we found it just a bit irritating. It was however quiet overnight.
Wifi/Internet very slow.

Requested upon booking pitches together campsite blamed pitchup, pitchup blamed campsite. Both parties were sited at opposite ends of the campsite.

Toilet block is down near camper/touring caravan area and a bit of a trek from the tent camping area.

Shop had barely anything that was needed and if lucky to find what you need it was double the price.

Beautiful site, clean, quiet, loved that your own little space, the staff where lovely and so friendly, just a beautiful camp site and the gorgeous little stream running though was breath taking and we got to see a kingfisher and a herion
