Location of the park was perfect to visit lots of surrounding areas of the Lake District, park was well kept, travelled with two 11 year olds and they had plenty to keep occupied, parks, playing in the river, walks through the woods, the home made tarzis to swing on, peaceful park on an evening no real noise after 11pm apart from one night which was a Friday so lots of new arrivals and excited to be away. Stayed for a week and would def go back. Plenty of showers and toilets - two sep blocks they even had a bath in! Lovely pub on site very friendly, pool table, darts, board games.

The shop is not the best there’s not much of a selection on offer and things are quite expensive example £3 for a packet of uncle bens microwave rice. If your looking to eat out of tent etc shops only open until 3 or 5pm depending on day and they do bits of home cooked food but found the closing times a bit to earlier for this. Pub doesn’t do food. The only other minor not so much dislike but disappointment was the size of the pitches they are snug if you have a say 5 man tent plus your car, if the person in the next tent moves on their air bed, snores, etc you hear it 😂 your that close you hear everything so would recommend ear plugs if your a light sleeper, there’s literally maybe a metre between youse if that our guide ropes were inbetween the next tents.

Lovely peaceful surroundings, very clean site The Squirrel was a great place to relax, plenty of things for the family to do. The Bakery was amazing and very reasonably priced with a great selection of provisions and lovely home made food. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We camped in a tent but unfortunately our pitch was on quite a big slope which made things difficult as we have a large tent this may not have helped the situation. The showers and toilets are quite a distance from the camping area too.

The park is nice and peacefool in a wooded area.

Plots felt quite crammed in.

The walk to Lowther Castle

Rubbish bins overflowing, dated toilet and shower facilities (slippy floors when wet), poorly maintained pitches, general air of neglect across site. Loud arguments from other campers and foul language used

Clean, spacious. Large toilets and shower area. Felt like a safe area.

Toilets were a solid 5 min from the tent pitch up and needed a code for some reason
Pub didn't open until 4pm in August on weekdays and onsite shop closes at 3pm.

The tent pitches were very spacious and provided plenty of room for tents and space to sit around them.

Multiple toilet and shower blocks are scattered around so you are never too far away from one.

Great place for walks with your pets.

It isn't a far drive from Pooley which isn't too deep and perfect for splashing around or getting on paddleboards etc.

The staff in the bar were very friendly and accommodating.

Would highly recommend.

Quite, clean, nice space

I came to the bar/pub at 9.01pm to indulge a quite moment and a drink with my son, and I am told "sorry I just called for the last order, come back tomorrow"...what kind of service is that after you have just travelled hours on the road, happy to enter a 5* site?
This was a bit harsh

I was also surprised to witness that no ball game was allowed, clearly making it not kid friendly.
