Good basic down to earth campsite

Plenty of space to pitch your tent away from other campers. Easy access to the Northern lakes. Good price compared to other Lake District campsites which are becoming a rip off for a solo campers that just require a basic tent pitch, toilet and a hot shower

The location was beautiful, surrounded by mountains and we decided to pitch up in the bottom field beside the river. The facilities were very clean, with the toilets and shower block situated in an old barn conversion. A place for people to meet and charge their devices if necessary. Very clean and spacious.

I would have preferred a hairdryer to be available but it's nothing major and doesn't take away from the lovely stay.

The view, clean facilities, warm showers friendly welcome, the view, great value, and did I mention the view

Could do with an extra couple of showers/toilets for the no. of pitches.

We found the campsite to be everything we needed. The barn with toilet and shower facilities was perfect. Easy check in by just texting the campsite owner. Plenty of fields and pitches to choose from.

Showers were hot, good washing facilities, plenty of space on the site to spread out. Stone car park by the facilities if you don't want to dive the car through the fields.

Bit muddy at gate entry points but to be expected with the wet weather.

Might be interesting leaving the field if it was wet, hot water for showers was sporadic!

Where do I start? The owners were lovely, nothing was a bother to them. The scenery was beautiful and plenty of space available for campers. It’s a quiet, lovely site and very peaceful. The toilets and shower blocks were clean and always stocked up. Owners are very helpful and friendly. I have already recommended this site to friends and family!!

There was not one thing I disliked.

Views was amazing and with the warm weather it was a great location to stay

It was 1/3 of a mile to the nearest toilet, wash up area or water tap for someone with walking issues this was difficult
Dogs run free here out of the 10 seen only 1 was on a lead and I was unable to sleep due to other campers chopping wood next to my tent at 11pm
