This off grid camp is wonderful and exactly as described. Beautiful and peaceful woodland. Lodges are spacious and clean, shower block and toilets very well maintained with piping hot water in an instant.

Site features a large (fenced off) pond, which during our stay had the added bonus of resident ducks and ducklings. Plenty to do both locally and further a field. Highlights of our stay were Llangollen Railway, Snugburys Ice-cream near Nantwich, White Hart pub in Ellesmere with its great beer garden, real ales and live music on Saturday, and of course toasting marshmallows on the fire pits to the early hours of the morning.

Ellesmere is a 5 minute drive away and has the amenities most need. Large Supermarket, fish and chip shop, pizza parlour, couple of independent deli shops and a good selection of pubs. We had the bonus of a farmers market during our stay (2nd Sunday of the Month). Ellesmere is only small so a tip would be to park at the Tesco and walk in to get your bearings. There is an accessible car park in the village centre.

We had an excellent time and had no need to contact the owners over the course of the stay. They provide a welcome pack with details of contact should you need of course :-)

Being surrounded by the forest was lovely, the kids were safe to just play. All you could hear were the birds. Had access to our own fire pit which was a bonus. The cabin, although basic, was absolutely spotless. Would highly recommend coming here, in fact we are already planning our next trip 😊

The track to get to the cabins was fairly long and very bumpy, but it was fine, we were aware of this before we got there. My car is very low to the ground but we managed it, you just need to take it easy.

Peaceful, and left to own devices. Toilets and showers well maintained, plenty of hot water

Had to travel for firewood as none on site, but small garage in neighbouring town had supplies.

Forest location, the fire pits

Wasn't as peaceful as advertised, there were far too many children in one of the cabins next to us that kept banging the doors constantly. Only 2 toilets for male and 2 for female; in the male toilets one didn't have any light all week and the other that had light didn't have toilet paper the first 3 days. Lights in the toilets/showers can be switched off from the outside which our neighbours took full advantage of, even when my wife was in the middle of showering.
There was a strong smell of farm fertiliser throughout our stay.

Everything!! We’ve stayed at these huts lots of times over about 10 years now (!!) and they keep getting better and better. Now with fridges, heating and a fabulous bathroom, we couldn’t ask for more. Loved the additional information you provided on local attractions too.

The outside furniture (picnic bench and chairs) is getting a little rickety and maybe needs replacing.

A blind on the door would have been good - other huts had one but Fox was missing one.

Lovely peaceful setting.
The lodges were very basic so was a good "camping" experience but with the added luxury of a fridge, kettle, beds and plenty of plugs for charging electronics.
The teenagers had a great time running round the woods with plenty to do in the surrounding area.
