Super friendly staff, lots of space on the pitch and the toilet and shower block were clean. Only once did I struggle for hot water in the shower but that was because I’d picked a busy time. Even then it was t cold, just not hot.

I’m not sure if we just picked a quiet time but the site was quiet, only one other tent in our bit if the field which was lovely and have the illusion of space. I love that we weren’t packed in like sardines; the staff really do consider you when choosing pitches.

Most of the pitches were flat making life easy and the staff just leave you be to get on with your holiday, perhaps just a friendly wave.

The pool was a great addition although a bit too cold. We hit hot weather so it was ok but I’m not sure you’d want to go in whilst it’s a bit cooler. I used my wetsuit in the end!

Very close (driving) to Morrisons, Tesco and Aldi so makes shopping easy.

The airport is just up the road so we enjoyed watching the planes and wing walkers. Some people might find the noise distracting, but it wasn’t a problem for us. I think the children on the site enjoyed watching them too.

Whilst I know it’s a working farm I wasn’t prepared for combines in the field next door at 5am. Considering there is a strict 9pm-9am quiet window (and I even received a text message to remind me of this), being woken up by noisy machinery so early wasn’t brilliant

The dirty dust also settled on my tent which I didn’t realise until I cleaned the windows down whilst packing up. I’m asthmatic so had some breathing problems as a result of excess dust, again some warning would have been useful.

If you’re taking a caravan, the entry road is a little narrow, steep and twisty, I would want to be in the first fields by the reception office. A point to consider when booking.

Whilst the supermarkets are close, the site could really benefit from a little shop for basics. The site isn’t within walking distance of milk/bread etc.

This camping is well managed, and in a very sensible way.

Although any camping on a farm is useful, it is normally just a huge bare field: boring, windy, and getting like a frying pan during high summer.

Not at Ninham Holidays ! They plant hundreds of trees between pitches, and very good trees, like oak, maple, beech, hickory, fruit trees...

In a few years time, this great place will be not only a camping, but the real arboretum.

They are located on the island: it is unlikely that I will come there from the mainland again. Not their fault, of course.

Could you open a second camping location somewhere in mainland Hampshire?

A beautiful site in the perfect location for exploring this corner of the Isle of Wight.
Plots were huge, facilities were immaculate and the pool was a real hit!
The bridleways around the site allow you to explore on bikes or on foot and it is a stones throw to the red squirrel trail and Shanklin railway station.
The staff really take pride in the site and we so friendly.

A beautifully maintained, peaceful site.
Warm welcome at check in. Useful welcome pack provided with site info and clear pitching guidance. Guided to our pitch by the management - for festival weary travellers this was so handy!
Huge pitch, very level and no problem getting pegs in or out.
Layout made for reasonably safe areas for kids to play freely in without site traffic concerns.
Landscaping - formal planting around the facilities, hedge/shrub/fenced boundaries in pitching zones, established trees across the site and nice little wilded areas made for a lovely setting.
Ability to rent an electric cable.
Five star facilities - showers, loos and laundry area all maintained extremely well.
Lack of insects bothering us, the odd wasp but no aggression.
Water points easy to access across site.
Ability to book time at the pool so it wasn't over crowded. Yes it was cold but fine once you'd been in for a few minutes. Importantly it was super clean.
Other campers were pretty good at sticking to quiet hours and being respectful of the facilities.
Communal sinks to wash dishes in were large, numerous and clean.
Meeting locals on a day out and finding out the high regard the site is held in by them read nice :)
Easy access to local shops, supermarkets and places to go with kids from the site.

I only mention the below for consideration of future visitors and management as we didn't have time to report / discuss these prior to our departure. I haven't rated the site down at all because of these points but we always give thorough and public feedback on our reviews.

Rental deposit for electric cable seemed high (£50 when I'm sure an exact replacement is selling for £39 online right now).

Washing machine drum is huge but the cycle, which was supposed to wash at 40°C, baked the clothes to the extent I almost couldn't handle them on taking them out of the machine.

Tumble Dryer drum also huge but after paying £5 for a complete cycle it hadn't come anywhere near close to drying a single thing - we were lucky the weather made for easy outdoors drying but worth bearing in mind in weather that may not be as good.

This final point is for anyone who isn't familiar with the surrounding area. This site is in a gorgeous setting but note there is active farmland surrounding it ... Which we discovered at 5-6am on departure day when a very loud tractor was deployed nearby waking our kids and continued to the point we couldn't get them back to sleep.

Absolutly love it here. Campsite is clean and quiet. Shower and toilet facilities are immaculate and the cleaners are present throughout the day. Never had to wait to use them. Used the washing machine/tumble drier and everything came out great.
Pool was lovely, water was the perfect temperature and not overcrowded.
Reception were welcoming and helpful.
A few minutes drive from supermarket. Heard tawny owls and green woodpeckers most mornings as well as many other birds.

Not really a dislike but if i had to say anything that would improve our stay it would have been nice to be able to get cold drinks/ice cream on site near the pool

Clean and well kept facilities. Plenty of space and well maintained pitches. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location within walking distance of large supermarket and Sandown beach. Once on site far enough to be in countryside/natural surroundings. Would definitely stay here again.
