Inch Beach Camping

This site is about 35 minutes’ drive from the start of the famed Slea Head, a spectacularly scenic 47-kilometre route that traces the very edge of the Dingle Peninsula. As well as stunning views over the sea towards the Blasket Islands and the Iveragh Peninsula, there are lots of spots worth stopping at along the way, including ancient beehive huts, Famine-era cottages, pretty beaches and the famed Louis Mulcahy pottery studio. A pitstop at Brandon’s Creek (40 minutes' drive) is worthwhile too, to see the spot from where St Brendan supposedly set sail for America in his currach, though anyone tiring of the sea view should opt instead (or as well) for a jaunt up the steeply winding Conor’s Pass, just outside Dingle. When Dingle Peninsula explores are exhausted, head instead towards Killarney (45 minutes). The town is home to the stately Muckross House and to plenty of shops and restaurants, and is also the gateway to Killarney National Park, Ladies' View, Moll’s Gap and the 179-kilometre-long Ring of Kerry drive around the Iveragh Peninsula. Don’t make the mistake of sticking to the Iveragh coast, though – explore the interior of the peninsula too with trips to the absolute-must-see Gap of Dunloe (40 minutes) and Ballaghbeama Gap (one hour).
