Caravan sites in Newquay

Watersports on Fistral beach, walking the South West Coast Path or wandering around historical gardens – whatever you want to get up to in Newquay, it’s worth booking a cosy caravan to relax in after days out. This kind of accommodation gives you a hot shower for washing off sandy feet, a kitchen to self-cater on a budget and a proper bed for a better night’s sleep.

Sounds good? Read on for our guide to caravan holidays in Newquay – including where to go, what to do and how to choose the perfect place to stay.

Where you should stay in Newquay

  • Beaches are the main attraction when you’re holidaying at one of our caravan sites in Newquay. There are 12 sandy stretches within a short drive of town, each with a different atmosphere. Let the kids loose at family-friendly Watergate Bay, sunbathe by the aquamarine shores of Mawgan Porth or meander over a suspension bridge to tour the island just off Towan.

  • If you stay at a site by the sea, you’ll also have easy access to the South West Coast Path. Take the trail above Bedruthan Steps beach to spy turquoise waters and rugged rocks from the soaring cliffs, then skip down the stairs at low tide for sandy strolls.

  • Newquay caravan holidays are always a hit with kids, so choose a family-friendly site if you’re taking smaller travellers on holiday. There’s plenty for children to do: the town lays claim to Cornwall’s biggest zoo, housing animals ranging from pocket-sized penguins to big cats, and an aquarium with a coral-reef tank full of pufferfish and sharks.

  • Unlike most local B&Bs, many of our caravans in Newquay welcome dogs. Look out for parks with room for pets to explore on site or on nearby walking trails in the countryside. You might also like to browse holiday parks close to dog-friendly beaches like Crantock and the Gannel.

What you can do in Newquay

  • The ever-thriving surf scene is one of the main reasons to visit Newquay. Known as the UK’s wave-riding capital, the area has plenty of schools where you can learn the sport. Lessons are available at Watergate Bay or Fistral and the conditions suit all sorts of levels and abilities, from beginners to pros. The waves are world class at Tolcarne, Towan Beach, Great Western and Lusty Glaze too, so it might be worth finding a caravan near one of these spots if you’re a seasoned surfer.

  • Navigate your way to Newquay Harbour and then out to the open seas on a boating tour for a full day out away from your caravan. This working port is the kick-off point for shark, wreck, reef and deep sea fishing trips, as well as pleasure cruises and seal safaris.

  • A little inland, take to the water at the lovely lake in Trenance Gardens. This calm place also has a mini railway, crazy golf, swimming pool and kids’ playground. Top off activities with scones at the tearooms or take them home to eat on your caravan decking.

  • Another beautifully manicured green space to explore is the garden at the National Trust’s Trerice, a Tudor house on Newquay's outskirts. Look out over the countryside from the kayling lawn before heading indoors to check out curios like a 300-year-old longcase clock and the Great Hall window's 16th-century glass.

Here’s how

Pitchup makes it easy to organise your break. Each of our holiday parks and static caravan sites in Newquay has varied features and facilities, so you can find a superb spot. Whether you want a play area to keep the kids busy or a park that allows barbecues, pick as few – or as many – of the filters on this page as you prefer.

Caravan holidays are also ideal if you’re organising a break on a budget in the UK. With this option you can fit lots of people – many of the units sleep around six – and spread out the cost of your trip.

To browse more static accommodation, take a look at holiday parks across the rest of England’s South West, perhaps by the Jurassic Coast in Dorset or the English Riviera in Devon. Alternatively, think about wandering around Wales or strolling through Scotland
