Buena Vista: Beatiful and peaceful views

General

  • Family-friendly site a five-minute drive from Torremanzanas shops
  • 40 minutes to Costa Blanca beaches; an hour to Aqualandia water park
  • Bell tents on spacious pitches, hot showers, plunge pool and barbecue

Overlooking terraced hills and the village of Torremanzanas near Alicante, Buena Vista has fantastic views across a valley swathed in pine forest. This peaceful spot is also surrounded by wildflowers, as well as olive, almond and fig trees, and there’s little to hear except the sounds of birds chirping and the wind rustling in the trees.

The tent pitches are spacious enough to give you privacy from your neighbours, and there are well-maintained hot showers and loos. In summer you can cool down in a small outdoor plunge pool, and chill out in hammocks dotted around the site.

Car parking is free and close to the pitches. The owners live on site and can provide delicious home-cooked meals as well as bottled water, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks. With prior warning, they’ll even make up packed lunches if you are off hiking or heading to the Costa Blanca beaches. A gas barbecue is also on hand in case you’d rather fend for yourselves.

Hillside Torremanzanas is just a 15-minute walk and there you can find a butcher, baker, pharmacy and a small supermarket for picking up all those camping essentials. There’s a colourful market every Sunday and plenty of tapas bars and cafés too – most with a well-priced daily menu.

Please note

No naked flames are allowed inside the hired accommodation units.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Protective masks must be worn at all times in common areas.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Guests are advised to bring a good quality torch with them as parts of the site are unlit.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

No charcoal barbecues allowed.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Dogs are not allowed during high season between 01/06 and 30/09.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 20/06 and 30/09 (subject to weather conditions).

The site caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.

Local attractions

One of the branches of the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trails goes right past the site, so it’s a perfect overnight stop for long-distance walkers. There are plenty of local hiking and cycling routes too, as well as rock climbing in Busot (40 minutes’ drive).

The beaches of Alicante, San Juan and Benidorm are all around 50 minutes by car, for bucket-and-spade days on the sand, as well as thrills and spills at Aqualandia water park (an hour). Chances are the kids will also be intrigued by the prettily illuminated limestone caves at Canalobre (40 minutes), and self-drive safaris to see elephants and giraffes at Safari Aitana (25 minutes).

Dotted around the mountains are villages like Jijona (25 minutes), with a dramatic waterfall and ancient, winding Arab quarter at its heart, while El Castell de Guadalest (an hour) has a medieval castle perched on clifftops, with spectacular views over the turquoise waters of Guadalest reservoir.
