General

  • Peaceful outdoorsy site in Guilleries-Savassona Natural Park
  • Paragliding, climbing and kayaking within half an hour's drive
  • A 25-metre pool, hiking and downhill mountain bike trails on site

Whatever your need for speed – from sedentarily settling back to soak up the smashing views, to slowly exploring hiking trails around the park’s three wooded peaks, or hurtling along downhill mountain biking tracks at the on-site bike park – this site’s extensive and scenic lands have got it sorted.

Càmping Guilleries is a small and highly spectacular family park surrounded by the peaks of the 8,300-hectare Guilleries-Savassona Natural Park, five minutes' walk from the village of Osor in Spain’s central Catalonia region. From here you’re within excellently easy driving distance of all sorts of outdoorsy days, from watersports at the Sau Reservoir to cycling the ascent from Sant Hilari Sacalm and speeding around the 250 kilometres of signposted mountain biking trails that make up 17 routes at Vall de Sau-Collsacabra Mountain Biking Centre. Also around the reserve’s green and pleasant lands are climbing, hot air ballooning and, of course, hiking around its cliffs.

Heaps of activities are available within this well-appointed resort: as well as the many hiking and downhill mountain biking options available right on site, guests can hire a bike to explore the surrounds, go paddling in the plentiful natural pools that form around the site’s neighbouring river, or instead swim in or laze alongside the park’s fine 25-metre swimming pool.

When all tuckered out and in need of fodder-based fuel, head to the restaurant for eats and, if you find you can squeeze out a little more energy, follow it up with a spot of gentle activity over at the pétanque pitch.

Please note

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/06 and 15/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Nice quiet location. Quite a small site but this makes it seem all the more removed from civilisation, beautiful scenery and very friendly staff. Level pitches and good access. Street lighting as an added bonus so no torch required to find the toilet.

Well kept, clean and friendly camp site positioned in a quiet location just off of a minor road. Lots of shade under the trees for the pitches, which was much needed. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful, both for advice on where to visit or find things locally and also when our trailer mudguard came off, they found some screws for us to fix it!! Nothing is too much trouble for them. Lovely pool with life guard, clean loos and wash up area. Restaurant next to the pool is ok and welcoming. Village nearby is quaint and has a bakery and small convenience store, lovely walks and many cycling routes locally. Altogether a great experience.

    Disliked:

Nothing serious - pitches could be a bit more spacious, but it wasn't a huge problem.

People who ran the place were very friendly made an effort to chat to us and make us feel welcome, toilet and showers were clean. We had access to a great swimming pool and the restaurant nearby was very good. Great area for cycling, quiet roads leading to fantastic climbs. The region is used by professionals for training and my cycling mad son and partner had a great time. Also good access to walks. Very quiet and picturesque. Village had good bakery and a nice little shop which sold general groceries and very good meat. The campsite also had chalets and huts if you didn’t fancy camping.

    Disliked:

Pitch could have been more level - but as we were in the mountains couldn’t really complain.

Lovely friendly hosts who went out of their way to make us welcome. The nearby village is gorgeous and un-touristy. Big pool, nice bar and friendly vibe.

    Disliked:

The showers get too hot and burned. No soap racks, toilet paper (sometimes). Sometimes things were broken in the toilets. However the hosts were so kind that all was forgiven.

Restaurant didn't have menus and we were overcharged.

From the manager...

Hi, I'm sorry about the restaurant prices. We don't manage it but they have very good menus and the price of it is around 12€ during the week for lunch and 15€ for dinner.
Probably you where overcharged because it was almost 1 o'clock in the night and the kitchen was closed, so they had to open again for you... I will ask them..
Have a nice day!

Location is a walkers/cyclist paradise with long routes planned out leading to lakes and viewpoints. The pool is clean and quiet and the perfect spot to cool off. The real selling point of this campsite is the kindness and generosity of the staff team. I wouldn't definitely recommend.

Local attractions

Watery sorts can get stuck into kayaking over at nearby Susqueda swamp, or you if you’d rather stick to dry land here you can venture to go on a guided hiking tour along the 25 kilometres’ worth of splendidly scenic trails that surround it.

Semi-seasoned and expert clamberers can test their climbing skills at a spot that lies 20 minutes' drive from Osor in the village of Amer, where routes that scale the cliffs and steep mountainsides of Santa Brigida range from intermediate (IV, V and 6a) to expert (7a, 7b, and 7c a) in difficulty. If you’re after something even loftier, head to Santa Brigida, 30 minutes' drive from the resort, for an adrenalised paragliding adventure.

Pedalling sorts, hire a bike on site and head eight kilometres away from Osor to link up with the Carrilet Route; it’s a highly viewsome 57-kilometre greenway that links the towns of Girona and Olot and follows a disused railway line between the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and the Ter valley.
