- Staff with extensive knowledge of the local area
- Buy tickets for Alhambra Palace from reception
A budget base within walking distance of an ancient city – it don't get much better than that. And there's a most friendly Spanish welcome from Maria and her team too at Camping María Eugenia, and an encyclopedic knowledge of the surrounding area – this lot say they're better than Wikipedia.
Camping María Eugenia is only three kilometres from Granada city, the capital of Granada province and an excellently ancient place containing the most excellent Alhambra, a palace city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Natch, it's a popular place for tourist peeps, so bypass the queues and buy your Alhambra ticket from the Camping María Eugenia reception before you go.
Back at base, the swimming pool is free to use, as is the site wifi and the hot water in the showers. And you won't have to pay anything either to access the site team's extended knowledge on local activities and attractions, the best restaurants with the tastiest food, local bars and lively nightlife...

Many sites set a maximum occupancy of 6/8 people per pitch, so try breaking your booking down into smaller groups to generate more results. For example, if you’re a group of 10, enter 5 people in your initial search and then book 2 pitches.
However, where the pitch or accommodation occupancy allows it, you can make a booking for up to 30 adults and 30 children in one booking.
To book multiple pitches or accommodation, use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together. Complete the booking form for the first booking (you can add a password and save your card so that we remember your details). Then click "Make another booking like this" at the top of the confirmation page to make the next booking.
Large groups: check the listing page for any group restrictions set out in the terms and section titled ‘Please note’.
Large tents/caravans: check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit is suitable for the space you will be provided with.

To the Palace! The Alhambra, the Spanish-Muslim Nasrid palace established in the thirteenth century by Mohammed I, is Granada city's most famed monument and one of the most visited attractions in Spain.
The Alhambra is a splendid site: after a day here, head back into the city for many more such as the Cathedral of Granada, the Royal Chapel, the many parks and gardens, the old neighbourhoods of the Albayzín and the Sacromonte – and an evening afterwards at one of the city's restaurants and/or flamenco nights.
Another stonking highlight of Granada province is the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, Spain's biggest. As with any park this size, active peeps will find heaps of things to do from hiking to horse riding, but Sierra Nevada also has the Sierra Nevada Ski Station, the most southerly ski resort in Europe.
More horse riding and hiking as well as a golf course and cycling routes are in the area around Camping María Eugenia: we have an inkling that the team will be able to point you in the right direction.
