How does a getaway on the bellissima Riviera del Corallo sound? If beach days, Mediterranean swims and delectable local eats appeal, head to Camping Village Torre del Porticciolo – a family-friendly site 25 minutes’ drive from the Sardinian city of Alghero – as fast as poss.
Splashing about by the seaside is a cinch hereabouts: the site is less than five minutes’ walk from a private beach in a sheltered bay where there are loungers, parasols and canoes to rent and a beach bar for staying hydrated and fed.
Anyone keen on seeing as much of this spectacular coastline as possible will be chuffed to hear that the site’s also within 20 minutes’ drive of plenty of famed Sardinian beaches. Even better? There’s a bus service to ferry guests from the site to these sandy stretches, or guests can arrange for car hire bookable through the site team.
Less salty days are easily passed on site, where there are two swimming pools to cool off in, a restaurant-pizzeria serving Sardinian delicacies, a well-stocked supermarket for anyone who fancies an evening of self-catering, and a boutique for snagging souvenirs. There’s also a snack bar by the pool, so ice cream and paninis are never far away.

The site’s in the Porto Conte Regional Natural Park, where there are 60 kilometres of sandy beaches, soaring cliffs and scenic bays to roam around. A diving school 10 minutes’ drive from base puts adventures below the waves within easy reach, and anyone not keen on diving can stick to the private beach instead, which the site team says is a top spot for snorkelling.
A must-visit on this pretty coastline is Grotto di Nettuno 15 minutes away at Capo Caccia – it’s the largest underwater cave complex in the Mediterranean and there are plenty of spectacular sights within, so be sure to get in the car or clamber aboard a boat for a tour.
History buffs will find amore in this part of Sardinia – it’s a haven for ancient remains, with Roman ruins and Nuraghe culture sites within easy reach. The remains of a Bronze age Nuragic settlement are 10 minutes away and the Anghelu Ruju necropolis is 15 minutes from base, and it’s just a five-minute drive to the Roman Villa and Nuragic Village of Saint Imbenia.
In need of a city day? The nearest is Alghero, 25 minutes away, where guests can sign up for dolphin-watching boat trips, see fish at the aquarium, dig around in the past at the museums, or simply wander the Old Town.

Camping Village Torre del Porticciolo cancellation policy
No refunds within 40 days of arrival date.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible so that someone else has the chance to book. You may wish to buy holiday insurance for cancellations and for your property/injury whilst away.
Please note that your deposit is paid to Pitchup.com and is non-refundable.
Payment
A 15% non-refundable deposit is payable now. Camping Village Torre del Porticciolo will debit the balance from your card 40 days before arrival, or if the arrival date is sooner than 40 days then the balance will be taken immediately.
Hired accommodation: €300.00 (£260.64) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
You can also opt to pay the full amount at the time of your booking, or at any point before the due date.
Tax
Local city tax of €0.50 (£0.45) per person per night at least age 12 up to 7 nights is not included and must be paid on arrival.
