  • Lakeside site in the Mecklenburg Lake District
  • Beach, marina berths, boat rental centre and bike hire
  • Restaurant, bar, Finnish sauna, high ropes course and playground
On a lake, with a beach, and in the biggest lake and canal district in all of Germany… take beach bathing and watersports as your Userin opener. Camping- und Ferienpark Havelberge is a lakeside site in the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau, with direct access to the Woblitzsee for swimming and boat hire, and with water bodies and sports all around. The site has a beach on the lake shore and marina berths for guests who want to bring their own boat (if not, fear not, as there's also a boat rental centre here with canoes, small craft, rafts and dragonboats for hire). Bike hire is available too for when you want to explore on land. There's stacks more to do on site here, including a Finnish sauna and a high ropes course, a kids' swimming pond, trampolines, and sports stuff such as beach volleyball, football, basketball or your own rules on the multisports field. The summer activities here are somewhat special too, ranging from the likes of archery and fitness classes to the less mainstream like Nordic walking tours and dog agility classes. The site's stage area hosts entertainment including shows and live music. For ease of eating (and accessing German beer), Ferienpark Havelberge has a restaurant, a bar with beer garden and a beachside snack bar, along with a mini market for you to collect your own cooking bits.

Local attractions

Guided hikes, cycle rides and canoe tours are all available around the region straight from the site, and fishing, swimming and canoe/boat rental on the Woblitzsee if you want to stick close to home. Away from the water, hiking trails, cycling paths and wildlife watching aplenty are at the Müritz National Park, a 32,000-hectare space where almost three quarters is covered by forest. Fish eagles, sea eagles, black storks and cranes can all be seen here around the lakes including at the Müritz, the biggest body of water fully within Germany. Elsewhere, the popular lakeside town of Neustrelitz, 15 kilometres away, is one of the best known on the Mecklenburg Lake District, set on Lake Zierker near a couple of dozen smaller lakes. Have a wander around its marketplace, Neustrelitzer Castle Park and town hall, before taking a look around the handsome city harbour, or head just outside town to the Tiergarten Neustrelitz animal park. Scuba diving and snorkelling tours are available 15 kilometres away.
