General
- Family site less than 10 minutes’ drive from scenic Villecroze
- An hour from activities at the stunning Verdon Gorge
- Less than an hour from the towns and beaches of the French Riviera
Whatever you do, don’t forget to pack your camera for your hols at Les Cadinières, a family-friendly site 10 minutes’ drive from the stunningly scenic village of Villecroze in the Var department of the south of France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.
Les Cadinières is a prime spot to use as a base for exploring the spectacular towns and villages of Var, starting with Villecroze itself: explore the village’s troglodyte caves, trek up to the waterfall, then (if you’re fond of a tipple and a sipple) pour yourself over to Domaine Saint Jean de Villecroze or Château Thuerry.
There’s plenty to do on-site too, if exploring isn’t your thing: there’s miniature golf, a playground, a kids’ club and a waterpark with two swimming pools, and you can get competitive with pétanque, basketball or handball.
When you’re getting peckish, head over to the on-site bar-restaurant for pizza fresh from the wood-fired oven or to try special dishes on themed nights (a big vat of mussels or paella? Yes please…), or order your food to go if you’re not feeling sociable. Breakfast is looked after too, and you can order bread, croissants or pain au chocolat to be made fresh for you every morning.
If you fancy treating yourself to an evening off-site, there are plenty of restaurants to try within 15 minutes – but be sure to scoot back post-haste as you won’t want to miss your evening of karaoke, movies, dancing or late-night swimming.

Local attractions
The medieval village of Tourtour is a must for its hilltop views and old stone building-lined streets, and Cotignac’s troglodyte caves, Entrecasteaux’s castle and gardens, and Aups truffle and oil mills are some of the other worthy stops within half an hour’s drive of Les Cadinières. Pay a visit to the Sillans waterfall too, and call in at the Terra Rossa ceramics museums on the way.
To keep active, head into Verdon Regional Nature Park for rafting, canoeing, kayaking and canyoning at the incredible Verdon Gorge, and canoeing and taking in the scenery at Sainte Croix lake, or stay closer to base with some treetop adventures 15 minutes away.
Fancy rubbing shoulders with the glitterati? At an hour and 15 minutes away, Les Cadenières is a bit of a jaunt from Cannes, but surely it’s worth it – time your stay to get a glimpse of showbusiness’s best, or visit when the festival’s not in town to stroll the streets and beaches in peace.
While in Cannes, take your chance to explore the rest of the stunning Côte d’Azur (the French Riviera) with stops in Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël and Saint Tropez, then head a little further up the coast for Nice and a royal excursion into Monaco.
