General

  • On the edge of a 45-hectare forest and near a disused railway line
  • A short drive from France’s oldest citadel in Doullens
  • Heated indoor pool with toboggan slides and Jacuzzi; miniature golf

Quiet or lively? The choice is all yours: four accommodation fields are here to choose from, all with a vibe of their very own.

On the edge of a 45-hectare forest, Camping La Kilienne is set up well for family stays and handily placed for heaps of woodland walks and cycles; there’s a splendid trail along a nearby disused railway line, and several historic monuments and some castle ruins around the local commune of Warlincourt-lès-Pas are a short stroll away too.

A heated indoor pool and paddling pool are among the fably well-maintained modern facilities at La Kilienne, with sun loungers on the solarium alongside the big pool, a Jacuzzi and – toppingly for tiddlers – two toboggan slides to slither down… And yet more fun for the littlies is over at the brightly kitted-out outdoor play area with slides and stuff to clamber on, as well as at the miniature golf course.

Eats and tipples are at the pizzeria with takeaway service, and at the cosy bar where there’s plenty of room to mingle with fellow guests should you fancy a spell of socialising. Barbecues are allowed, so pick up your sausagey supplies from the nearest supermarkets at Doullens, 15 minutes’ drive away, set yourself up for the evening and sit back to watch the sun sink over the pretty neighbouring woodland.

Occasional entertainment events and theme nights are arranged in throughout the summer and a kids' club is available In July and August, and for avid angling sorts, trout fishing excursions are also arranged during peak season (extra charges apply).

Please note

The indoor swimming pool is open between 15/05 and 15/09.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Please note, guests have a free five minutes' daily hot water allowance: additional minutes can be purchased at reception.

    absolutley nothing

    Disliked:

on arriving at camp , to start with reception isnt sign posted you have no idea where to go , and no one around to help , we finally found it after searching for 15 mins , the tent pitches are in a field full of mice , rubbish and unkept grass , the toilet /shower block in the field is a shack with mens urinals on the outside in full view of children playing, inside were so horrendous they were unusable no toilet seats or broken toilet seats !! no loo roll and look like they have never been cleaned ! The pool area changing and showers are of the same condition! the pool was ok , but even on a hot day its kept under cover , we never made it to the bar/food service as i refused to stay the night , we went back on to pitch up and booked a different site straight away , in my opinion this place should be shut down until it meets the standards,of human living , if the toilets are as they are i cant imagine what the kitchen would have been like ! hence we didnt stay around to find out. It would be pointless complaining as they are not going to clean just for us and the mice problem would not be resolved over night ! it was a camp like out of a horror movie !!

From the manager...

the reception is marked on 5 advertising on the village. You just have to follow the panels.
The toilets are cleaned Two times by day but perhaps you came in after a group of children...
We have 3 toilet seats and 3 without ; because some people prefer without ...
This is right that in the end of august we have broken something on the roof which not allowed to open it. Sorry for that

Swimming pool was good although water was freezing.

    Disliked:

Unfortunately I don't have many good things to say about the caravan site.
    1. Wash rooms dirty, not cleaned daily.
    2. Showers not really fit for purpose, worst I have come across in thirty years of caravanning.
    3. Flush the wc and the floor got flooded with water.
    4. Camping pitch not well maintained and generally nor was the surrounding area.
    5. Very unhelpful reception staff.

From the manager...

The swimming pool is controlled by an organism called ARS. This organism confirmed that the swimming pool is at 27°C
I was on the site during your stay and I don't remember that you came to ask us for something so I don't understand how you can say that the reception staff is very unhelpful !!!!

The swimming pool was big and well maintained. Lots for children to do and entertainment put on.

    Disliked:

Very noisy campsite with lots of people not adhering to the campsite rules. Adults and children still screaming past 11pm with no one coming to check as the tent pitches are quite away from the main site. Toilets were not cleaned regularly to my knowledge and because of the many campers became dirty very quickly. People were taking dogs in with them and leaving it quite messy. We didn't feel very welcomed by locals or staff the presence of security at the disco made us feel uneasy and the locals did not seem willing to be friendly.

This was a great site with great facilities. A true taste of France, very friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. It's Rustic France so if your expecting 5 Star New Forest it might not hit the mark, but as a DofE leader, camping every week it was good. £126 for the week with swimming and free crazy golf. This included electric ( you need a 16 amp plug to EU connector which are 5.99 on EBay). 2 1/2 hours to eurodisney which you can get to not on the toll roads. Arras ( park in the grand place in arras all day for 2.50€). If you book online for Euro Disney the campsite reception will print your tickets, you can use your phone with the e-reader but it hammers your battery and doesn't work, we spent a lot of time charging phones and inputting the ticket numbers, but that said eurodisney was fantastic and I don't like theme parks. The toilets are good (take your own loo paper) and showers in the new static ( water is limited so go before 9am or after 7pm for hot or scalding). Make sure if you arrive Sunday as with all of France the shops shut at 1pm that you bring supplies. The local intermarche or super u and Aldi marche are in Doullens, decathlon in Arras. The local Carrefour connect would definitely match a Tesco express despite previous comments and they have fresh meat and bakery, this place is actually cheaper than the big supermarkets. For those of you who vape, e-liquid is readily available under the counter at the tabac for 8.90 for 3 bottles. A great holiday thanks La Killenne. There is a stream running through where the locals fill there carriers for home. Imagine the Peak District or Lake District, all green with an ambiant temperature.

Local attractions

Plenty of hiking and cycling options are in the area, including through the neighbouring woodland and along the old railway line that runs nearby. If you’re a golfer, a course is a short drive from base.

Several historic spots are within easy reach too: France’s oldest citadel is in Doullens, and the parkland that surrounds Château de Couin is splendid for a mooch. The 17th-century windmill in Achicourt is also within easy driving distance, and the Mining History Centre over at Lewarde is where you can take guided tours to learn about the region’s mining heritage.

Seaside day trips are within easy reach by motor too: there’s a huge sandy beach at Berck, and lots of wildlife spotting options are at the coastal Somme National Nature Reserve, where migratory birds like wigeon, shelducks, curlews and oystercatchers settle alongside harbour seals and salt-meadow sheep.
