General
- Family site close to Rocamadour and Padirac
- CCTV secured so safe for children to run around
- Heated pool, snack bar, kids' club, trampoline, treasure hunts...
Off to the Lot with the family lot? Let the kids off the leash at Camping Le Ventoulou, a family park and member of the 'Sites et Paysage de France' group. There's CCTV throughout here, so kids can roam far and wide as safely as poss, while the grownups kick back at the covered heated pool, sports areas or one of the many organised activities…
Camping Le Ventoulou has loads going on for guests, like a covered and heated 150m² pool for swimming throughout the season; a paddling pool to allow safe swimming for tiddlers; a games area for all ages with trampolines, climbing walls, a slide, seesaw and plenty of other games; a pétanque court fully lit at night so you can play any time, and Sunday evening welcome drinks to meet your fellow campers.
A weekly entertainment programme runs for small and big folk too, which includes a kids' club on weekdays from 10am to noon for ages four and up (painting, treasure hunts and games are all on the menu for les enfants).
There are also table tennis and table football tournaments, water polo, pétanque and evening entertainment like karaoke, dancing, bingo, quizzes, water Olympics and quite a bit more. Activities like climbing and canoeing can be arranged in the local area for an extra charge.
Other facilities and services available throughout the season – yes, there's a Lot more – are wifi throughout the site and access to an internet site (charge applies to both); a games room with ping pong, pinball, table football and more; fresh bread and pastries – and French and foreign papers, a snack bar, takeaway, pizzas, ice cream and bar available in July and August.
Amenities-wise, Camping Le Ventoulou has child-friendly bathrooms with loos, showers and sinks, a baby bathroom, a phone booth, a library and a mini post office. There's also a launderette with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron (buy tokens for the washing machine and dryer at reception).

Local attractions
Make the Camping Le Ventoulou reception your first port of call when considering what to see and do in the Lot and Dordogne valleys, as the team knows its stuff and can also offer discounts for some nearby activities.
There's loads to see without having to drive too far: Rocamadour, Padirac, Figeac, Loubressac, Autoire and Carennac are all a short distance away, and the small and comely villages of Sarlat, Collonges La Rouge and St Cirq Lapopie are nearby.
The area has heaps of natural countryside to explore too and – c'est France, after all – a diverse range of food and wine to get stuck into. Flea markets, pottery and craft fairs, night markets, fireworks, concerts, dances, a country festival and an opera festival all run in the summer season.
Outdoorsy types can take their pick from many activities available locally, like trekking, mountaineering, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking, climbing, caving, abseiling, paragliding or diving. A fishing lake is less than 10 kilometres from the park, or you could fish in the Dordogne river less than 15 kilometres away.
