General

  • Campsite with a quiet and friendly atmosphere
  • Refresh and breathe the air of the resinous trees
  • Be entertained with an endless selection of activities in summer

The camping La Chanterelle is located in the south of the Auvergne region in the Livradois-Forez natural park. The campsite is on the border of a 3.5 acres lake and surrounded by a wooded environment composed of pines, douglas firs and spruces.

The site is quiet but during the summer the team offers a selection of sports activities, day trips, shows and many other surprises throughout the daytime and the evening.

Breathe the air of the resinous trees, stroll along the paths, forage mushrooms in the forest or go fishing in the water by the edge of the lake.

Whether you are a family, or a group staying for a few days or more, you can keep fit at an altitude of 900m or just relax in the calm, quiet and friendly atmosphere. Here everyone is called by their first name and it is with joy that you are welcomed within the family that is the campsite.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

Local attractions

The location of the campsite allows for a wide choice of outdoor activities. You can swim in the lake (supervised in July and August) or go fishing from April to October (licence needed). You can enjoy a hike, a ride on horsebike, a mountain bike excursion, a mushroom and wild fruits hunt, and many more activities.

The proximity of the Allier river enables you to enjoy water sports. For the more adventurous, you can try bungee jumping, or adventure trees.

Spend an afternoon at the farm and enjoy organic produce, discover age-old practices and help return the animals to the stables. You can also eat typical dishes like aligot, truffles and stew.

Venture a little further afield and explore Lace, the famous green lentils, villages like Blesle, Lavaudieu, Arlempdes, La Chaise Dieu, Brioude, and a lot of small churches in hamlets. Visit Ally and its old mills and windmills, or castles at Domeyrat, Polignac, and Lafayette.
