General
- Well-kept family-run park between the Dordogne and the Céou valley
- Castle views of Beynac two kilometres away
- Bar, fishing pond, swimming pool, restaurant and kids' clubs
Spectacular views and lots to do in la France await at Camping Les Deux Vallées: you can see a fortified castle from the park for a start…
Camping Les Deux Vallées is in the Périgord, between the Dordogne and the Céou valley, and has views for a king of the Beynac fortress a couple of kilometres away. It's also a top-notch location to use as a base for exploring: medieval towns and castles, gloriously green gardens and prehistorically ancient sights can all be seen here for the days when you're off site to take in the food, drink and sights of the Périgord countryside.
On site, loads is laid on for guests by the amiable and English-speaking team: a swimming pool and paddling pool (open as soon as weather allows), bar with pool table, small shop, games room, sports court and a fishing pond. The TV room has a big screen telly to keep up with the Tour de France, Wimbledon or other big sporting events.
There's a launderette to take care of essentials and a playground to take care of the kids – or send them off to the kids' club for three to seven year olds or the 'not-so-mini' club for ages eight to 12. The clubs run in July and August, as do the regular entertainment and activities like sports tournaments, bingo nights and talent shows.
Et finally, the Camping Les Deux Vallées restaurant serves tasty food and has a good choice of set menus; high chairs are available for the small.

Local attractions
Beynac, its comely village and the fortified Château de Beynac are two kilometres from Camping Les Deux Vallées: the château is on top of a cliff so go here for magnif views down the Dordogne valley. More famous cliffs are at La Roque Gageac, along with many independent shops and restaurants, three kilometres from the campsite.
As well as Beynac, one of the best known castles in the region, the area has many other sights to see for those into medieval history and architecture, like the medieval town of Sarlat, the capital of the Périgord Noir region (eight kilometres); the village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and medieval castle housing the Museum of Medieval War (four kilometres); and the medieval town of Domme, with yet more spectacular scenery down the Dordogne.
Even ancienter history can be had at Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil, a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing the Musée National de Préhistoire/National Museum of Prehistory (15 kilometres) and the prehistoric cave paintings of the famed grottos of Lascaux.
See also the 22 hectares of topiary gardens at Marqueyssac, two kilometres away, and Josephine Baker's former home the Château de Milandes four kilometres away, these days home to demonstrations by swooping birds of prey.
