Make free and easy at the relaxed Sychpwll Centre on the banks of the River Vyrnwy, where you’ll find a five-acre camping field to pick your own pitch: all sizes of tent are accepted and campers can park their cars alongside their tents.
Sychpwll is an eco-friendly smallholding that’s grown organically over the past 30 years. We use a ‘leave no trace’ camping as a major policy where guests are asked to dispose of their waste and recycling in a responsible manner. Leaving no trace is also essential when building campfires, as these must be off the ground so as not to scorch the grass: if you’re planning on having a fire, be Boy or Girl Scout prepared and bring a suitable container or brazier with you. Wood is available to buy on site.
If it’s too wet for a campfire, the friendly owners will fire up the Rayburn in the straw bale kitchen and have boiling water ready, so you can dry off or enjoy a morning cuppa if you want it, before getting ready for a day exploring the Welsh countryside.
