General

  • Small peaceful site with spectacular countryside views
  • Modern toilet block with disabled access
  • Tearoom on site with free wifi

The Old Station Caravan Park is a small family-run park situated on the old railway station at New Radnor. We're an ideal site for walking, biking or simply relaxing. Set in the beautiful scenery of mid Wales with superb views of the countryside, we welcome tents, tourers and motorhomes and have two holiday caravans for hire.

My husband John and I have been at the caravan park since 2004 and our aim has been to preserve its serenity and history.

We have updated the park over time, building a modern toilet block with showers, which are disabled-friendly. There are also laundry and washing-up facilities. The touring pitches have been upgraded with electric hook-ups to accommodate caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes. Tents are also welcome.

Our new tearoom is open to visitors to enjoy tea, coffee and cakes, and to use the free wifi connection.

Facilities include:

- Electric hook-ups
- A modern toilet block with showers and dressing areas with disabled access. The showers and hot water are free.
- Utilities room with laundry, washing-up facilities and freezer use
- Small on-site shop stocking essential items and OS maps
- Fresh drinking water supply
- Recycling bins
- Chemical toilet disposal point

Please note

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

We had a lovely holiday. The caravan was immaculate and had everything we needed. The site was lovely - great views. There was a great tea shop on site serving amazing homemade cakes! The owners were very friendly and helpful with ideas of places to visit. We really enjoyed our time there and would visit again.

The friendly owners of the site and the tea rooms. We were greeted on arrival by a friend of the owners as they had nipped out. On their return they came and introduced themselves and checked we were ok. We visited the tea room which was excellent. Will be returning again.

Lovely safe field for children to play
    Lovely shower
    Walking around the Elan Valley
    Rare Breed centre: owl's amazing
    Friendly staff
    Free fridge and freezer use
Information readily available regarding local area

    Disliked:

    Noisy road
Windy pitch one night (take wind breaker)
Only one shower (not busy so not a problem for us)
Long walk to toilets (ok for us but frequent trips for children lengthy particularly in the early hours)
Early check out time (not sure why this is, not stayed at another site that we had to leave this early

From the manager...

Sorry that you found it a lengthy walk to the toilets, we do let campers stay on the main park area if this is a problem but we find that most families prefer to go in the camping field where there is lots of room for children to play.
The 11am check out time is flexible and people are welcome to stay later if the pitch is not booked out.
We are so glad that you enjoyed the local attractions that you visited as Mid Wales is a lovely place to stay.
