Turn off the main road in the village of Commins Coch. Immediately pass under a railway bridge then continue half a mile to a fork in the road. Keep left at the fork (don't cross the white lines). Continue up the steep hill, and our house is near the top where there are farm buildings on both sides of the road - we will meet you here to show you to the site.

Local attractions

Of course you might be perfectly content to relax in your tipi, chat around the camp fire and enjoy the stunning views and local wildlife, but if you fancy something more here are some ideas.

There are lots of footpaths and bridleways to explore – starting right by the campsite. In fact the Cambrian Way, Dyfi Valley Way, and the Glyndwr’s Way National Trail all pass through our farm.

This is first-class mountain biking country. There are four superb trails in the area around Machynlleth. We also recommend the mountain bike mecca at Coed-y-Brenin which is a 35-minute drive away. You can also hire bikes in Machynlleth or Coed-y-Brenin.

There are great beaches nearby at Aberdyfi and Ynyslas.

We are nine miles from the world-famous Centre for Alternative Technology.

If you want to try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, the Dovey Valley Shooting Ground is only a few miles away, as is the field archery course of Dyfi Valley Archery Adventures.

The nearest pub is the Penrhos (two miles away) which is good for eating out, as is the unique Machinations in nearby Llanbrynmair.

The closest towns with shops and supermarkets are are Machynlleth and Dolgellau.
