Myself and my partner decided we wanted a weekend away ... 13/08/2017

Myself and my partner decided we wanted a weekend away during the summer holidays (he's a teacher so we are restricted on when we can go away) and I came across the Camping Pods at Irfon.

At first, I was a little apprehensive as there weren't many reviews or pictures so I didn't know what to expect! I'm not great at camping!

I didn't need to worry, when we arrived, approximately 2pm on Friday, my partner was met by Kevin. He directed us to the pod and then came up to the Pod instantly, we didn't have to wait to check in which was great after a long drive!

Kevin then showed us around the Pod, pointed out all amenities and asked us if we had any questions before leaving us to explore for ourselves. Inside the pod there was a little kitchen area which had everything we needed (bring a tea towel!), microwave, kettle, hob, toaster, fridge and a little freezer section...all the utensils were there, pans are there and we were even provided with washing up liquid!

The main floor of the pod has two sofa beds which pull out to adequate sized beds, my partner is fairly tall and he didn't hang off the end which is rare! There is also a substantial fold away table which had 4 fold away chairs and all the cutlery is in a draw in the table too which is perfect! There is also a Tv with freeview and a DVD player for cosy nights in.

The bathroom is in a separate area of the pod with a lockable door and has a toilet, sink and shower inside. The shower has good power too which I didn't really expect which was good :)

Outside the Pod is a little balcony area which looks across the campsite and you can see the river, it has a table outside and 4 chairs with comfy cushions! To the right of the decking area is a stand which is perfect for a disposable BBQ (we cooked on it and none of the smoke came into the Pod).

The campsite is surrounded by lots of beautiful fields and lots of nice walks, it's very peaceful and you can go on a walk and not see anyone for hours. We found a little place by the river and spent an hour learning how to skim stones.

If you do forget to bring something, there is a substantial Coop food store about 10 minutes drive in Builth Wells, which sells everything you could need.

If you are looking for a more substantial town to visit and a nice place to have afternoon tea, Brecon is about 30 minutes away and had a mixture of quaint cafes and mainstream shops which filled Saturday up nicely!

If you are looking for a place to stay and relax which isn't too far away from a town then I cannot recommend this place enough, and for the cost of £75 a night, you cannot go wrong!

I have 2 young boys and had a 5 night stay in one of the camping pods.

Upon going to reception Kevin who runs the site was very welcoming and very helpful if I needed anything.

The pod was really warm and the bathroom with toilet and shower was very useful. 2 burner gas hob with sink along with microwave and small fridge freezer. This all helped greatly making the stay very comfortable. Two pull out sofa beds were firm but to be expected if glamping! Outside seating are with space for a disposable BBQ is also a nice touch if you bring the sun with you! To with built in DVD player was good for the children of an evening. USB sockets also meant lots of charging points for phone, tablets or anything else you may have.

Site was very quiet and there was a really nice small play area for the children. The pebble beach for the river was great for the children to take fishing nets on.

The location of the site is central to most places nearby like Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells. They are a short drive away around 10-20 minutes.

All in all a great stay and I would definitely go again.
