Martletwy Campsite: Beautiful sunset photo dose this no justice

General

  • Peaceful, well-maintained rural Pembrokeshire site
  • Tenby, Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm within a half-hour drive
  • Part of a farm with sheep, cows, pigs and horses on site

Which side of Pembrokeshire is the one that piques your interest? The peaceful rural one that comes with the county’s cracking countryside and coastline or the family-friendly one that revolves around kid-pleasing attractions like Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park?

It matters not for guests at Martletwy Campsite, for this site on a family farm mixes up a remote feeling with a handy location for getting out and about. This is a place that’s well away from any busy roads and yet within 15 minutes’ drive of Narberth and the aforementioned attractions. The Preseli mountains and the coast are within a half-hour drive, so you can also soak up the scenery without having to stray too far.

It’s not all about leaving the place behind though – Martletwy Campsite is also the kind of place that lends itself rather well to many an hour spent on site, perhaps having a chat with the friendly neighbours (that’s the cows, pigs, sheep and horses that live here all year round) or staking out a bit of space for a barbecue of an evening. There's a vineyard within walking distance if you fancy a little local tipple to go with your alfresco dinner (just a suggestion…)

Facilities have been kept to a minimum here to preserve the quiet rural vibe, but guests will have access to chemical disposal and a smart new toilet block with large showers and hot running water.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Minimum spacing of 5 metres between pitches.

The staff especially silly the lady Jess was so lovely very friendly and accommodating. The shower block was always clean. We were given so much space to pitch on which was a real bonus with a puppy. They re cycle here too which I love not a lot of campsites do. Would deffinetly come back here.

This was our first time taking our 4 year old daughter camping. We were greeted upon arrival by very friendly welcoming owners. We were shown to our spot and made aware of all facilities available to us during our stay.
These include - fridge freezer, showers, toilets, electric hook up (if you've booked this area), washing up area, as well as recycling and rubbish removal services.
The grounds are very well kept and the facilities were spotless. Lovely added bonus was that were are animals on site. Horses, pigs, cows, and chickens.
This site is local to lots of attractions such as beaches, folly farm, oakwood, dino land and loads more.

We would happily return to this campsite again in the future if we travel to this area.

The campsite was all we could hope for and more... It is in a beautiful location and although some might say slightly remote all amenities were within a reasonably short travelling distance...if you want good proper pub grub in a pretty estuary edge location I would recommend The Lawrenny Arms...Nearby beaches are all stunning...so no need to go to the Caribbean!!....We also visited the Lily Pads at Bosherston which we think is worth a visit....and Carew Castle...
Jess was a great host ....
Thank you for a lovely stay...

Local attractions

Why is Pembrokeshire such a popular part of the world for family holidays? Well, that would be the extensive list of attractions – enough to keep even the most energetic of nippers busy for many a day.

The very closest of these are Oakwood Theme Park and the Blue Lagoon waterpark (both 10 minutes’ drive), and it’s only a little further to further family antics at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo or The Secret Owl Garden (both 15 minutes) or Manor Wildlife Park (20 minutes). A 15-minute drive will also get you to Carew Castle & Tidal Mill for a dip into the area’s past.

It would, of course, be very wrong to skip the chance of a seaside day or two while you’re here: try Tenby (25 minutes) for a clutch of sandy beaches and wildlife-spotting boat trips or get over to Barafundle Bay (half an hour) for your chance to spend some time at a beach that frequently features on lists of the world’s finest.

Something for the grownups? That previously mentioned wine spot is Cwm Deri Vineyard, 15 minutes’ walk away…

Must see

  • Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (5.4 miles)
  • Pembroke Castle (6.1 miles)
  • St Davids Cathedral (19.2 miles)

National Trust

  • Tudor Merchant's House (9.0 miles)
  • Stackpole Estate (9.7 miles)
