Will's Field: Views around Will’s Field

General

  • Horticultural haven built by owner Will over more than 30 years
  • Close to Saundersfoot beach, Tenby harbour, zoos and amusement parks
  • Garden house surrounded by lush greenery for candlelit soirees

Come to Will's Field... an immaculately landscaped garden site in properly peaceful Pembrokeshire, where the grounds have been colourfully cultivated for over 30 years to create a spectacularly scenic garden – just take a peek at the site pics...

The location of this serene spot is something to rave about too, because it's about half an hour’s walk from Saundersfoot beach and a five-minute drive from the 13th-century walled harbour town of Tenby and its cute cobblestone streets, smashing beaches and brightly coloured buildings.

On site, have yourself a piping hot pot of afternoon tea in Will's garden house, surrounded by blooms, mature trees and bushes full of chattering birds; stick around in the evenings to join other guests around the garden house dining table for music-filled and candlelit soirees.

The accommodation area can be found in the lush little walled herb and veg garden… and not only is Will a dab hand at gardening, several of the structures on site have also been hand built by the man himself too, including a bathroom block with toilets and hot showers (just as pristine as the manicured lawns).

For all your essential foodie needs (local wines, ales and lots of cheese – definitely essentials), the farm shop at the entrance of the property will have you well sorted, and for anything beyond the basics, you’ll find everything you could need over in nearby Tenby.

Please note

A charge of £1.00 applies for the use of the shower.

Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

Entrance to Will's Field is narrow, and any vehicles larger than height 3m, width 2.4m and length 6.7 m will not be able to drive safely into the site. Please be aware there are overhanging trees too.

Gorgeous site, hidden treasures everywhere, nooks & crannies, lakes, trees & more. It’s not the best equipped for loos & showers, but it sure is fun. Will shows you in to your almost personal pitch, and from there it just gets better. All the guests were talking, so many communal areas, we had a lovely stay

Access for A class motorhome near impossible
No bus service close, no pub close, busy road
£30 to put your used toilet paper in a bin far too expensive

From the manager...

Dear Pitchup, To respond to the above.
Access to Wills field is narrow, however there is enough room for 10 ton lorries to drive up
to the site!
The customer who wrote such unpleasant comments arrived late in the evening and seemed very stressed, I did my best to help.
The toilets are kept very clean at all times as confirmed by many customers who stay here.
Will’s field receives regular good reviews so I am very sorry these people didn’t absorb the spirit or even look around the garden. Yours sincerely, William Rogers

Where to start ... booked two nights £30 a night for a grass and gravel pitch. Due to a personal issue tried to cancel one night at short notice, but could not get a refund as told too late, accepted this as was within 1 week of staying.
However, on arrival was told "Oh we are rather busy, would you mind just parking on this grass and I'll pop you on a proper pitch tomorrow" I explained we were now only staying for one night as I had explained by phone (must have forgotten or not made a note!), so given a patch of grass in a different area, not a grass and gravel pitch as paid for, good job we had a long electric cable! Yet he couldn't refund as it was too late to book our pitch out, yet he didn't even have a pitch for us on the first night!!!
Then we were shown the shower and toilet, this was an experience I hope is never repeated ... you paid £1 for the shower to get hot water, this was outside round the back of the shower room, hopefully no one nipped in before you got back round or it ran out before you had finished.
The toilet, we were told not to put any paper down it and to put any paper used in the bin next to the toilet (had we suddenly found ourselves in somewhere like Greece, do I really want to be subjected to others 'dirty' paper) sorry but not very hygienic and the sink only had cold water. In these times (Covid) is this even acceptable.
No motorhome servicing point or WIFI.
The site itself needs a lot of TLC, the grass was not cut as shown in the pics and things left laying around, pics totally misleading.
For £30 a night I expected a lot more, I will be taking the toilet and hot water issue further.
Overall very disappointed, we left first thing the following morning, so paid £60 for a 12 hour stay.
I cannot believe some of the feedback, I feel these people must have 'Rose Tinted glasses' on.

Unusual, small site in a great location.18/09/2021

Area and location, owner, quirkiness, farm shop at the end of the lane (Four Seasons). The shower was hot and not on a timer. Campers are encouraged to put £1 in the meter to operate the shower.
There is no washing up area and no toilet waste point.
Pitches don’t seem to be allocated and with a sign to park where you like on arrival there also looks like there might be the potential to go out in your van and come back to have to find another spot to pitch up.

    Disliked:

Lack of information- unsure which areas were for guests or part of self catering accommodation. A little intro on arrival/ a bit of signage around the site would have been incredibly useful.

I loved that the tents, vans, gypsy caravans were randomly dotted around and not sat all in a row, the Enchanted garden feel about Will's field, the little seated areas you'd discover whilst walking around.
Toilet and Shower were always clean! Very unique. Will is a friendly and helpful chap.

Local attractions

Saundersfoot beach is an easy five-minute drive away, or about half an hour’s walk if you feel like stretching your legs, and there are plenty more spectacular sandy spots to explore along the same stretch of coastline.

From Tenby, take a boat out to St Catherine’s Island to see its 19th-century Palmerston Fort, or over to Caldey Island to wander around its tiny village, hang out on Priory beach, or take a trip back in time with a visit to its Norman chapel, Old Priory and St Illtyd's church. Another historic hotspot worth visiting around the area is Manorbier Castle (15 minutes' drive) – film buffs might be especially interested to learn that it was used as a film location for 1989’s The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe…

Several animal adventures can also be had within very easy reach: visit Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, or head to Manor House Wildlife Park over near the village of St Florence; both are less than 10 minutes' drive away. Other attractions a short drive away include Dinosaur Park and Oakwood Theme Park (both within 15 minutes).
