Glan-Y-Mor Farm Campsite: Blue pod and blue skies

General

  • Quiet farm campsite with views over Pembroke Castle
  • A mile from Pembroke town centre; Tenby 20 minutes' drive
  • Small-scale site with relaxed family-friendly atmosphere; dogs welcome

Glan-Y-Mor Farm Campsite is a small-scale spot roughly a mile north of Pembroke and its gorgeous medieval castle. Come here for views over towers and turrets from the farm and easy access to the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

The site has good amenities, including a small toilet block and a washing-up area, and is close to the amenities and railway stations of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock, both of which can be reached on foot within 20 minutes or so. Supermarkets, shops, pubs and historic buildings can all be easily visited without using your car.

Barbecues and campfires are allowed at this laidback spot, and well-behaved dogs are welcome too. The farm is home to a number of inquisitive sheep, a herd of cows and a couple of shaggy donkeys, so you'll feel properly immersed in rural life during your stay.

Looking further afield, Glan-Y-Mor Farm Campsite is well-placed for day trips to seaside resorts like Tenby (20 minutes) or to wilder parts of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park like the Angle Peninsula (20 minutes) and St Anne's Head (40 minutes).

Very quiet campsite, plenty of space between the tents, toilets well looked after.
Logs and kindling available to make the stay even more worth while....
In walking distance to Pembroke castle and pubs/local shops- bigger grocery shops less than 10 minutes drive away. And ideal spot to visit various beaches, walk around lily ponds or hike along the coastal path...

    Disliked:

sadly no shower (would be nice to have a shower after swimming in the sea!:-)

The facilities were very basic but adequate and the peacefulness of the site outweighed the lack of showers etc. We accidentally pitched our tent in the camper van area which didn’t seem to be a problem and there were only three other groups of campers in our field so lots of space around our pitch. Great proximity to the centre of Pembroke and a great base for exploring the whole of Pembrokeshire.

    Disliked:

No fridge/freezer for ice packs, no communal charging area for devices. Only had 2 unisex toilets for the whole camp, one had a lid that wouldn’t stay up so if you used it had to deal with it touching your back unless you hold it up as you use. Toilets were very dirty. Motion sensor lights go off too quickly at night so half way through using the toilet it’s in the dark. No hand wash provided in toilets. Hot water tap and sink in toilet area was a small and useless.
No showers but knew that already. Hosts never once greeted us in person but we’re easy to communicate with via email and phone.
