Penlan Holiday Village is a peaceful family-run holiday park offering comfortable holiday lodges within the stunning Teifi Valley, in the beautiful west Wales countryside.

We are located beside the vast Forestry Commission-managed Allt Ceiliog Nature Reserve, with plenty of walks to enjoy nearby. Relax, unwind or explore the beautiful countryside and miles of spectacular coastline nearby.

Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, games room and a clubhouse.

By car:

From the north, via Aberystwyth

Follow the A487 to Cardigan. Take the A484 to Cenarth (approx 7 miles); crossing the River Teifi take the first road on the right after the bridge, the B4332, signed to Boncath. Continue for one mile climbing the hill past the Forestry Commission on the left; continue 150m arriving at Penlan on the right.

From the east (M4)

Follow the M4 west to junction 49. Take the A48 to Carmarthen then follow the main A40 trunk road towards Cardigan and West Wales Hospital. Continue past hospital then take second exit at roundabout, joining the A484. Continue heading for Cardigan. After approximately 35 minutes (21 miles) you arrive at the village of Cenarth. At the centre of the village, before the bridge and Post Office turn left onto the B4332. Continue for one mile climbing the hill past the Forestry Commission on the left; continue 150m arriving at Penlan on the right.

From Fishguard

Take A487 signposted Cardigan. At Cardigan take the second exit at roundabout following the bypass over the River Teifi to a second roundabout. Take the third exit joining the A484, signposted to Cenarth and Newcastle Emlyn.
At Cenarth, cross over the bridge and take the first turning on the right, signed to Boncath. Continue for one mile climbing a hill past the Forestry Commission on the left; continue 150m arriving at Penlan on the right.

By rail, bus and ferry

Carmarthen Train station is approximately 22 miles from Penlan. The quickest transfer to Penlan would be by taxi, but the village of Cenarth (one mile from Penlan) is also on a bus route. If continuing from Carmarthen by bus:

From the Carmarthen train station, cross the footbridge to the bus station and catch the 460 bus to Cardigan. This route follows the A484 to Cenarth where you depart at the Post Office. The final one mile can be walked, or we would be happy to arrange a taxi for collection.

Local attractions

There are many walks to enjoy nearby. Or drive into the picturesque village of Cenarth and take a walk beside the famous waterfalls, and watch out for the leaping salmon.

Explore the west Wales coastline, quiet sandy beaches or take a walk along the miles of coastal paths.

To sample the culture of the area, visit the market town of Cardigan, the home of the first National Eisteddfod of Wales in 1176 and once a busy port. For the adventurous, take an powerboat trip from the mouth of the River Teifi and watch the local dolphins and seals in their natural habitat.

Or explore some of the many imposing castles built across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, or visit Fishguard not far from the very last French Invasion in 1797.

With a cheese factory, chocolate factory, artists' studios and a honey farm nearby there's plenty to do, with the freedom to plan and enjoy your perfect holiday whatever the weather.

Additional terms

The booking is made on the understanding that your chosen lodge will be placed at your disposal on the date stated. If your chosen lodge is unavailable for whatever reason, we will transfer your holiday at no extra cost to an alternative lodge that is acceptable to you, or alternatively, refund your total cost of holiday, but you will have no additional claim against us or any letting agent.

Your lodge furnishings, fittings, utensils and other contents must be kept in a reasonable condition and the lodge must be left clean and tidy on departure. You will be responsible for any loss, damage or breakages that may occur during the period of occupation.

We are a family holiday village and regret that bookings cannot be accepted from all male or female parties.

A maximum of two dogs per lodge are allowed.

Pets must be kept under strict control at all times and must not be allowed to foul the property or the park grounds.

Pet owners must bring their own pet basket and/or bedding.

Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds and must not be left unattended in the hired property at any time.

Your lodge will be available from 4.00pm on the stated day of arrival and must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure. Reservations will not be held after 10.00pm on the day of arrival unless prior arrangements have been made with us. If you have not contacted the holiday village to inform us of your late arrival, we will assume that the holiday is cancelled. Steps will be taken to re-let the accommodation and the total holiday cost will be retained.

The maximum number of people allowed is clearly stated in the description and extra persons cannot be accommodated. Only those guests listed on the booking shall be entitled to occupy your lodge for their use and any breach of this condition shall entitle us to terminate the booking and to exclude forthwith from the holiday village both the unauthorised persons and your party.

The booking form shall also be treated as an application by each person in your party for membership of the club.

Day visitors

Your party are welcome to register and pay for day guests, subject to management approval, at reception. This permits use of the swimming pool and entry to the clubhouse.
Admission charges: Adults and children £2.00; infants 3 years and under £1.00.

Vehicles must not exceed 10 miles per hour within the boundary of the holiday village. We will not be responsible for any personal injury, loss or damage to property or persons howsoever caused by vehicles not owned by us or driven other than by one of our employees or agents.

Neither we nor our employees or agents accept liability for any personal injury, loss or damage which may be sustained by your party or their guests or their property during the period they or any of them are at your holiday village except where it arises from the negligence or wilful default of us, our employees or agents.

Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times.

Cots and hire chairs that are available to hire must be left clean on departure. Additional cleaning may be charged for.

You undertake (both for yourself, all members of your party and their day guests) not to do anything which may in the opinion of the management of your holiday village be or become a nuisance or annoyance or which shall in any way interfere with the quiet or general comfort of other guests at the site. Any person failing to comply with this condition will be asked to leave the site immediately. No refund will be made as this will constitute a breach of contract between you and us.

We cannot guarantee that any requests will be met. Failure to meet special requests will not be a breach of contract. It is your responsibility to satisfy yourself that the property is completely suitable for your needs.

The enjoyment of your holiday is important to us and, in the unlikely event of there being a problem or dissatisfaction with any matters under our control, please report it to a member of staff immediately. We cannot accept liability in relation to any claim of whatever nature if you fail to notify us in writing within seven days from the end of your holiday.
