General

  • Spacious farm site by the coast 10 minutes' drive from Aberteifi
  • Easy access to Ceredigion Coast Path; 20 minutes' walk from Mwnt beach
  • Sea views and private cove for spotting dolphins and birds

Care to head to Ceredigion, for coastal walks, crowd-free beaches, castles… maybe even catching a glimpse of a passing pod of dolphins? What a cracking idea.

And an even more cracking idea is nabbing a few days at Nant-y-croi Farm, on the coast between Aberteifi and Aberporth. If it's easy access to the coast you’re after, you’re in the right place: the Ceredigion Coast Path crosses the farm, for an easy meander to Mwnt beach, 20 minutes away. Even before you set forth for that stroll there are super sea views to be had from the site; gaze out towards the waves for a while and you may well spot the seals, dolphins and seabirds that often pass by these parts.

This is a properly peaceful place, but niftily also within easy reach of plenty of ways to fill your West Wales days: more beaches, boat trips, canoeing, golf are all nearby, and you’re well placed for outings to Cilgerran Castle, Cenarth Falls and lots of other scenic spots.

For eats, you’re welcome to light up a sea-view barbecue; pick up supplies 10 minutes away in Aberteifi and stash them in the fridge-freezer until it’s coals o’clock. Other amenities on site include a washing-up area, launderette and toilets and showers.

Please note

Bookings must not be for more than 31 consecutive nights.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

The location is great, Very quiet, safe for the kids to play. Lots of room on the pitches. Added bonus is the bottle nose dolphins. we sat and watched them for a couple of hours. There were several groups only 100 foot from were we sat, take a look at the photos i took. We are looking forward to going again as soon as we can.
The phone signal is very poor but the camp site has no control over that. There is however WI.FI that works all over the camp site and its free.

Nothing really to dislike. I would say go and see for yourself we thought it was great.

The views - incredible! Lovely peaceful site, huge field and the pitches are only around the edge so you are not cramped and the view doesn't get obscured by other guests and there is loads of room for the kids to run around. Anna is lovely. Facilities are clean and showers are nice, warm and strong and don't turn off after 30secs! Shop is well stocked for essentials and reasonably priced. And my eldest loved the opportunities to get free ice creams, like scavenger hunts and finding painted rocks.

What can I say, I’ve stayed on superpitches, five star caravan parks but this campsite is something else. It’s a working farm remember that and the showers and toilets are is top working order really powerful shower sorted. Two fields down you have an amazing coast walk, I took my dog and the views are to die for absolutely amazing.l have a bugbear it’s WiFi a lot of campsites have WiFi but when you get there they charge you extra for it and if you have children it can get quite expensive Nant-Croi-Farm doesn’t do this it’s all included in the price nice one as for the owners absolutely lovely so helpful and lovely to talk too.Again I am sick and tired of all the rules and regulations before you even pitch up we adults are not stupid we know what we need to do,again this campsite doesn’t do this again thank you , Cardigan is a couple of miles down the road and you have to visit st dogmaels which is a stones throw from cardigan lots to do and see and if your a history buff like me your sorted.Thankyou Nant-Croi-Farm for an absolutely amazing stay.

The site itself is stunning, the view is incredible, so peaceful and relaxing. My girls 8 and 10, loved the space, feeding Ned the donkey and the childrens activities - scavenger hunts and stone hunts- all with ice cream prizes and watching the dolphins playing in the bay was a highlight.
The situation is perfect, Cardigan, Mwnt Cilgerran, Aberporth all a few minutes in the car, Mwnt a lovely walk along the coast path.
Andrew and Anna were perfect hosts, working tirelessly to ensure the campsite, shop and facilities were spot on. There was always hot water in the showers, and always clean toilets with toilet rolls! The shop had everything you needed, and feeding carrots to Ned the donkey was an absolute must each day for my girls.
We had a wonderful 12 days and will be going back.

From the manager...

Thank you for leaving us such a glowing review! It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we both really enjoyed getting to know you all. Your girls were a lot of fun but very well behaved and the site doesn't seem the same without them! Be lovely to have you all back again next year x

Directions

If you have a motorhome, campervan, touring caravan or trailer tent, it is recommend that you arrive via Gwbert.

Local attractions

Mwnt’s your nearest beach (and mighty lovely it is too), but it’s far from the only sandy stretch worth a visit locally. Also on your list should be Tresaith (20 minutes’ drive), Aberporth (20 minutes), Poppit Sands (25 minutes) and Llangrannog (half an hour).

Should you be seeking a bit of exercise along with your sea views, there’s a golf course 10 minutes’ drive away, or you can head into Aberteifi for all sorts of aquatic activity, including surf lessons, sea kayak tours, serene days of paddleboarding or adrenaline-packed coasteering adventures.

If you’ve not managed to spot dolphins from the site, you may have more luck on a boat trip from New Quay (40 minutes). Guaranteed sightings of friendly farm animals are five minutes’ drive away at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park; they’re even friendlier if you feed them. Seals can often be seen basking on the shore here, too.

Away from the coast, it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to drive to 13th-century Cilgerran Castle, the Welsh Wildlife Centre and the National Coracle Centre at Cenarth Falls.

Must see

  • National Wool Museum (13.1 miles)
  • Llanerchaeron - National Trust (19.2 miles)
  • National Botanic Garden of Wales (29.3 miles)
