General

  • Close to the three-mile long beach at Borth
  • Great sea and mountain views of the surrounding area
  • Games room, fitness room and restaurant/bar with sea and mountain view

Welsh sea or Welsh mountain? Have borth, sorry, both with a stay at Borth in Ceredigion, as it's not only a coastal town and a stop on the cracking Ceredigion Coast Path, but has views over (also cracking) Cardigan Bay as well as Cader Idris and the Cambrian Mountains.

Among all this scenery and well set up as a west Wales exploration base is Brynrodyn Caravan Park: sea and mountain views of all these surrounds come along here as standard, natch, along with a family-friendly vibe and a good range of facilities including a games room, a fitness room – and we did mention those views…?

The site also dishes up meals, and takeaway at its clubhouse, along with drinks including house specials, cocktails, champers, wine and sups for the kids. And yes, sea and mountain views are here from its balcony too.

Other amenities on site include a shower and toilet block; there's also a washing-up area and a launderette.

Great Facilities but soul-less 20/06/2018

There is a impressive club house with glass balconies over looking the coast with stairs leading to a lovely little outside garden area and they do bar snacks and a carvery on Sunday although we didn't eat there. The bar staff are chatty and friendly.

The Club house and toilet/shower block is very clean, nice hot showers which had a shower door which kept the changing area in the cubicle dry. Great beach access and steps up to the cliff top. Quietest camp I have ever seen.

A good base for touring around the coast. Do visit the Seabreeze, seafood restaurant in Aberdovey - fantastic!

    Disliked:

There was no one on site to book us in on arrival at 3.45 waited for 30 mins, there was no answer on the phone number we had for them. Then a work man called the owner/manager they just pointed in the direction of a field and said take your pick. We were offered no information about Wi-fi or where to find information a notice board. Except for the young bar staff we saw none of the management.

There is no recycling that we could see on site just a large 8 cubic yard general waste skip placed right next the shower block full to the brim is was stinking, held my breathe every time I had to walk past it. We saw seagulls ripping the bags and
litter and broken glass bottles on the floor around the skip.

The site has a lot of static caravans and seasonal pitches and a few people turned up at the weekend but left on Monday, we just found the site a little soul-less. There are lovely views from the club balcony and cliff unfortunately the pitches are in a bit of a dip so they is no view other than bare camping field, no trees bushes or plants / flowers

Borth prom wouldn't win a beauty prizes with the ugly concrete sea defences, not a single planter with flowers but it's a great surfers spot, its a pity the council don't make more of it. We spent most of our time in Aberdovey which is scenic and lovely, we left the camp a day early. Although the facilities are great I wouldn't stay there again.

Location is lovely, be sure your car has enough umph to tow up a steep hill! Pitches were adequate and plenty of space for kids to play and run around. The club house looks brand new but is 10 years old! Limited choice of food it would be nice to have another side option other than chips, food is good and good value. Shower/toilet facilities were adequate and clean.

    Disliked:

The beach access road desperately needs speed bumps, we witnessed a near miss! Watch small children on the crossing between touring and static fields!!! The service in the clubhouse wasn't great, with the kids meals being served after adult meals were finished, the restaurant was empty, so real reason other than bad timing by the chef, having said that we were in no rush but it would have been more professional to be served altogether.

We stayed for the Bank Holiday weekend and arrived quite late on the Fri night after work (due to complications with our car and towbar and then the 3 hour drive) but we were still greeted at the clubhouse with a cheery smile and then personally directed to our pitch, which we had plenty of choice of, and then even given an extra electric extension cable as ours was just a little too short to hook up where we were in the top field. The manager couldn’t have been more helpful and we were really thankful of this. It was dark when we arrived, but we were not disappointed by our choice of pitch when we woke up! The views of the sea and the bay all around were just gorgeous! Little lambs grazed in the field behind us, and it was not as windy as we were expecting considering how high up we were. We got the sun perfectly. The children adored the open space we had to fly their kites, run around and play!
The games room by the Bar and Restaurant was an added bonus too! Lots of arcade games with prizes and a pool table. There is a soft play area too. The bar was buzzing, excellent live music, bingo, and a good choice of food (all you can eat buffet) laid on each night which was tasty and really good value for money! We loved to sit in the sun on the balcony in the afternoon with a nice cold drink and admire the views!
It was so quiet and peaceful on the park, everyone was really friendly and the showers and toilets were clean and fresh, with lots of hot water. They had washing machines and hair dryers too.
The village of Borth is just down the hill with a long beach and rock pools that the kids loved. You may even be lucky enough to catch sight of a dolphin or seal in the afternoon! It has a few good shops, cafes, restaurants and a chippy too.
    We will certainly come again!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Nobody to welcome us at reception (in fact alarms went off when I walked in!) Drive around site a couple of times as couldn’t see a soul. Even knocked on house at entrance but no response. Phoned 2 contact numbers a couple of times and even sent an email. In the end took a pitch but didn’t settle as signs advise not to do this. Nobody came in morning either so just drove away - disappointing. Perhaps due to being last day of the season....even so not great 🙁

Enjoyed a very blustery Storm Brian weekend at Brynrodyn! Joined in with a charity Racenight at the club house and felt very welcomed by the residents of the static pitches! Lovely atmosphere and great Sunday Roast before we left on Sunday!
Great to have 'proper' shower cubicles with plenty of hot water!
Will be visiting again when the sun shines!

Local attractions

Brynrodyn Caravan Park is in such a tiptop location of west Wales: right by beaut seaside town Borth, five minutes from Aberaeron, near the River Dovey, the Cambrian Mountains and Snowdonia, and only a couple of hours from packed city days out in Cardiff, Liverpool or Manchester.

15 minutes away is most excellent Aberystwyth (Bill Bryson's fave seaside town, travel book types), the Victorian seaside resort between hills and beach and with harbour, castle and the spectacular Aberystwyth Cliff Railway up to eye-watering views of Cardigan Bay at the top of Constitution Hill. (Yes, you do have to come down and get back to the real world eventually. Bah.)

Jetskiing, boating, fishing, windsurfing and kitesurfing are among the watery options available at nearby Cardigan Bay; on land, wildlife watch and tramp the Ceredigion Coast Path or the three-mile beach at Borth (the longest in the county), or take your mountain bike hair-raisingly down the three nearby trails of Cadair Idris.
