  • Cabin with stunning views over Cardigan Bay
  • 10 minutes' walk from Aberaeron; two minutes from sea and coast path
  • Private path leading to the coastal path and a private kichenette
Out in search of a gorgeous spot right by the sea? Then, head way out west to Ty Gwyn Apartments, which is set in a lovely location by the sea, on the outskirts of Aberaeron town and with wide views over Cardigan Bay. Walks over the coastal path are very much on the itinerary, as the Ceredigion coastal path is only 400 metres away and can be accessed by a private track. After all the walks and sandy beach days, keep the sea views going as you settle in your little studio; it’s got a small kitchenette (with access to a fridge-freezer) for snacks and drinks as you gaze out of the window, and there’s also a shower room with toilet and sink for easy ablutions. An outdoor private hot tub is also available on the deck (and available for a small extra charge) – a lovely reward for any former hiking efforts. Heading out, it’s a 10-minute stroll down to the centre of Aberaeron for pubs, eats and beach days, and around a 15-minute drive to New Quay, a hub for dolphin-spotting boat trips.

Local attractions

Aberaeron’s got two patches of beach to seek out, with one of them being a good launching spot for those who’ve got canoes, small boats or windsurfers to take out on the sea. If paddling in the waves here seems a tad chilly, take swims in the town’s leisure centre instead. Heading into town is best done on foot with a 10-minute wander along the coast path; once you’ve warmed up with that little wander it’s also worth making the trip to the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron estate, a smart pad a couple of miles away along a quiet path (also suitable for folk travelling on two wheels). A little further afield are go-karting and coarse fishing (both about four miles away) and busy days out poking around in Aberystwyth (half an hour’s drive), taking in the castle, the beaches, the National Library of Wales and the classic cliff railway. Surely also on the must-do list is a dolphin-spotting boat trip from New Quay (15 minutes’ drive).
