General

  • Overlooking the seashore on the coastal path a mile from Aberaeron
  • Spectacular views of the Llyn Peninsula and north Wales mountains
  • Outside barbecue area with firepit

FishermanCabins is on the edge of the coastal path in the village of Aberarth about a mile from the handsome Georgian town of Aberaeron. The cabins have uninterrupted views of the mountains of north Wales and the Llyn Peninsula, all the way to Bardsey Island.

The blue cabin on site is split into two smaller cabins, with a shower room to be shared between the two. The cabins were built in 2013 and are perfect for walkers, surfers or anyone with a love of the outdoors.

There is an outside barbecue area with a small firepit so you can take in the stunning scenery as well as the sea air.

From the minute we got there we knew had chosen the right place to stay. The warm welcome to the brilliant location 10 out of 10.. if you like the outdoors cooking experience with a bit of home styles thrown in well this place is perfect...
It's a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute car drive to the main town which gives you everything you ever wanted in eateries and convenience shopping. The sunsets are amazing .. and there is a camp site next door for additional family members if they want to join you and camp themselves.

Gorgeous views, friendly and accommodating hosts and a comfortable bed.

There was nothing we didn't like, we had a wonderful stay. However, it just needs a few tweaks like a hook on the bathroom door for towels/clothes and some sort of storage for clothes. Other than that it was spot on!

What a lovely place to stay. Listening to the waves first thing in the morning was just bliss. Lovely little towns very close by and a gorgeous sea. Clive was very friendly and the cabin had everything you would want for a chilled weekend away. Facilities were also very clean. We had a lovely bank hol weekend and would highly recommend this place. The wall seperating the cabin is thin and you can hear straight through, but the other occupants wernt noisy, and were friendly so wasn't an issue for us (but i suppose it may be for some people).

    Disliked:

Nothing at all, it was just lovely.

We loved our 4 days in and around Aberaeron. The Fishermans Cabin was great. It was a few minutes drive to the lush town of Aberaeron where you can find loads of nice restaurants and shops. Its quieter than New Quay which we like (though New Quay is also decent). We went to the Cellar restaurant in Aberaeron and had one of the nicest meals Ive ever had (Scallop Starter, Duck main). Highly recommended but pricey.

The cabin has a nice garden and Clive was happy for us to use the chimnere and BBQ in the garden for late night fires or cooking. We even done a bit of shore fishing just down from the garden. The cliff overlooks a stony beach that we wandered each night. On our final day we sat in the garden all day and enjoyed the sun and the soudn of the waves. We even got out for an hours surf with only one other boarder out there.

We drove 30 mins or so to Mwnt where we had a nice coastal walk and sit on the lovely beach...it was a bit busy though but it was roasting hot so was expected.

    Disliked:

The only reason this place is not 10/10 is that we got to sleep quite late on our last night due to hearing our neighbours rustling around until 1am and having their TV quite loud. The soundproofing is the only thing that could be slightly improved but this was minor.

A real island of tranquillity on the shore (ocean is just a few steps away). Very helpful and friendly proprietor. Walking distance from a lovely fishing village. Excellent restaurants or for BBQ lovers local butchers and fishmongers available. The best place for people with need of emptying the mind.
