General

  • Horticultural haven built by owner Will over more than 30 years
  • Close to Saundersfoot beach, Tenby harbour, zoos and amusement parks
  • Garden house surrounded by lush greenery for candlelit soirees

Come to Will's Field... an immaculately landscaped garden site in properly peaceful Pembrokeshire, where the grounds have been colourfully cultivated for over 30 years to create a spectacularly scenic garden – just take a peek at the site pics...

The location of this serene spot is something to rave about too, because it's about half an hour’s walk from Saundersfoot beach and a five-minute drive from the 13th-century walled harbour town of Tenby and its cute cobblestone streets, smashing beaches and brightly coloured buildings.

On site, have yourself a piping hot pot of afternoon tea in Will's garden house, surrounded by blooms, mature trees and bushes full of chattering birds; stick around in the evenings to join other guests around the garden house dining table for music-filled and candlelit soirees.

The accommodation area can be found in the lush little walled herb and veg garden... and not only is Will a dab hand at gardening, several of the structures on site have also been hand built by the man himself too, including a sanitary block with toilets and hot showers (just as pristine as the manicured lawns).

For all your essential foodie needs (local wines, ales and lots of cheese – definitely essentials), the farm shop at the entrance of the property will have you well sorted, and for anything beyond the basics, you’ll find everything you could need over in nearby Tenby.

Please note

Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site.

This is an adults-only site. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.

A charge of £1.00 applies for the use of the shower.

Entrance to Will's Field is narrow, and any vehicles larger than height 3m, width 2.4m and length 6.7 m will not be able to drive safely into the site. Please be aware there are overhanging trees too.

Sorry, I didn’t like anything about this site

    Disliked:

This site is quite unacceptable for the price of £26 per night. No designated pitches, told by the owner on mobile phone to park where we were. Just so happens it was near the electricity and water point. One toilet, with an overflowing bin containing toilet paper as flushing down was not allowed. Also, the flush on the toilet was operated with a coat hanger. Shower, not fit for purpose, luckily we have our own facilities. Communal dish washing, is a dirty plastic bowl in the middle of the field on an old table, no hot water.

Firstly I need to say I wish people read reviews before deciding to stay somewhere and if it’s not for them choose elsewhere, instead of leaving pointless reviews. As soon as we drove down the lane to Wills Field with its quirky hobbit hideaways we new this wasn’t going to be a run of the mill site. If your after a site with rows upon rows of caravans/motorhomes, with multiple shower/toilet blocks this isn’t the site for you. If your after something unique, quirky and a place to unwind and switch off from the outside world this is the site for you. With every corner you want to explore more, yes it has a rustic charm, carved out by a genuinely, kind hearted gentleman who’s site at times overwhelms him but I must say is a credit to him. The greenhouse is a fabulous place to sip a glass of wine and get lost in thought of the beginnings of Will’s Field. The site has two toilets and like some of our continental conveniences the toilet paper can’t be flushed, the one shower on site supplies hot water from a meter which costs £1 which provides more than enough hot water for a relaxing shower, the conveniences might not be excessive but we didn’t have to queue once. The washing up area is outside with a cold water feed, drainage area for your pots and pans, washing up liquid supplied.
Many places to venture out to by car or bike but we walked into Tenby via the old road that took approximately 50mins and Saundersfoot approximately 40mins.
This is the place for us, and we will be returning.

Such a beautiful place to stay. Very quirky, quiet and with plenty of privacy. Will is a lovely host who takes pride in all that he has accomplished on site. His gardens are immaculate, within moments of arriving he was generous enough to share his knowledge of the trees where we’d be pitching our tent around and gave us full access to the green house to use whenever we desired. I personally fell in love with the place and can not fault it. Minutes from Saundersfoot and a quick drive up to Tenby. So many beautiful places to visit, and walk around, we even got up close and personal with the local zoo animals.
The toilets on site were always clean and the shower was lovely and hot. Two very happy customers who will definitely be returning.

Absolutely loved the informal , rustic layout of this site , the various sections of garden add to the peace and charm of this 'unkempt' haven . Ideal for adults to get away from the life in the fast lane , and thoroughly recommend the calm in opposition to the many 'commercial' sites that are to be found in this part of the country.

Local attractions

Saundersfoot beach is an easy five-minute drive, or about half an hour’s walk if you feel like stretching your legs, and there are plenty more spectacular sandy spots to explore along the same stretch of coastline.

From Tenby, take a boat out to St Catherine’s Island to see its 19th-century Palmerston Fort, or over to Caldey Island to wander around its tiny village, hang out on Priory beach, or take a trip back in time with a visit to its Norman chapel, Old Priory and St Illtyd's church. Another historic hotspot worth visiting around the area is Manorbier Castle – film buffs might be especially interested to learn that it was used as a film location for 1989’s The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe...

Several animal adventures can also be had within very easy reach: visit nearby Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo in Kilgetty, or to Manor House Wildlife Park over near the village of St Florence. Other attractions a short drive away include Dinosaur Park and Oakwood Theme Park.
