This is a lovely, quiet site. Parking is in a field overlooking the sea - a lovely view. The facilities are basic but modern and very clean at all times. I never got to meet the owners in the 3 nights that we stopped there but the lady sounded very nice on the phone.
If you do as the owners say on your booking details and access the site from the main road (ignoring your GPS device) there is no problem whatsoever with narrow roads or access.
The beach and small town are just a short walk away and there's plenty to see and do in the area if you're prepared to travel a little.

If you're in a caravan or motorhome remember to bring some leveling ramps etc...

    Disliked:

The lighting for the toilet block is turned off at night so when you REALLY need to go at 4.00 in the morning.... perhaps some dimmed lighting operated by movement sensors could be installed ?

There's no facility for fresh water at the electric hook ups (although there is a communal supply)

The site has great access to the dramatic coastline and the local village which has some good pubs, it also has great views from the site.

    Disliked:

it has 3 communal toilets and only 2 showers for the whole site which is probably the worst facilities on any campsite I have stayed on before, there are constant queues even after 9pm.
There are also no seperate sinks to have a wash or clean your teeth in.
I`m sorry to say because of the facilities I will not be booking back and Conifers camp site.
Its a shame as its a lovely location but 3 toilets and 2 showers between everyone is just unacceptable. This could be such a lovely site with decent facilities.

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire is a place with loads to do, from pottering around ancient sites to launching oneself into the waves off one of its several spectacular beaches. Sailing, windsurfing and body boarding spots are all easy to find very close by.

Conifers Pentraeth Touring Park is a few minutes' drive from the Pembrokeshire coastline and the much recommended Pembrokeshire Coast Path, accessible via Newport on its 186-mile run.

Hike the 15 or so miles from Newport to St Dogmaels if you feel up for a challenge, via dolphin spotting over the Teifi Estuary and seals pupping in autumn on the sands at Cemaes Head; away from the coast, Carn Ingli and the Preseli Hills are also good options for hikes your legs will remember the next day.

The Iron Age fort of Castell Henllys is a few miles away and plenty of Pembrokeshire old piles and monuments are around to explore: try Newport and Pembroke castles, the cathedral at tiny St Davids, the Garn Wen burial chamber in Fishguard and the stone circles of the Preseli Hills.

Along the coast at Tenby, have an animal day out with a trip to see the inhabitants at Manor House Wildlife Park aka Anna's Welsh Zoo.

Must see

  • National Wool Museum (19.2 miles)
  • St Davids Cathedral (19.6 miles)
  • Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (22.3 miles)

National Trust

  • St David's Visitor Centre and Shop (20.0 miles)
