  • Five-minute drive from Bluestone Water Park
  • Pub with home-cooked food, real ale and a log fire
This is a pub site, but you might still want to pitch up here if you have kids… Snooty Fox is within walking distance of Oakwood Theme Park, a five-minute drive from Bluestone Water Park and close to Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Heatherton World of Activities and Manor Wildlife Park – what a cunning location. It's a top place for watersports too: Pembrokeshire Wake Park is five minutes' stroll away. This is also good biking country and within walking distance of the rides and strides of Canaston Woods; Coedcanlas is three miles away for those who fancy a peaceful walk along the estuary. Dog-friendly walks are close to hand too: the Snooty Fox owners recommend a stroll into the local woods and down onto the waterfront. The pub is family run and has a large function room, a stage area and a pool/games room. It serves home-cooked food (for food, you should book a table in advance when you arrive) and real ales – obv the best thing is to settle down with both in front of the log fire… Snooty Fox doesn't have showers on site but it does have outdoor toilets and washbasins, and toilets in the pub are available to use during opening hours.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Second time staying, lovely site, plenty of other children around so the kids loved it. We were right next to the Park which was great as the kids had some freedom.

Disliked: Would like facilities to wash up. A building is up with sink but it's not plumbed in

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely place with great views, hidden swing and lovely play area for the kids

Disliked: Wasn't notified before arrival that food wasn't available that night due to a function.Furious had to travel to local town to find an eatery last minute. If we'd have known we'd have brought food to make. Also no public toilets.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Sorry to hear that you could not book in for food however its doers state on pitch up that we have occasional functions and therefore food would not be available, we would advise Guests/Campers to phone in advance for information on table food bookings. We also have public toilets, both male and female inside the bar and when the Bar is closed we have Campers Toilets at the side of the building. These toilets are left open over night for your convenience.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We booked this site as advertised with pub so with young children we thought this would be ideal for pub food and chill out. Friday night we couldn't order food because they had a function on, asked again Saturday day and kitchen was not open till 5pm but they were also fully booked for after 5 aswell. It's very expensive site for what you get, wouldn't recommend the site I'm afraid.

From the manager: Sorry to read your comments, Unfortunately, and due to lack of staff we are limited on our opening hours and the number of table bookings we can accommodate. The bar is open from 12 noon on Saturdays and 12 noon Sundays for Sunday Roasts, Throughout the week the kitchen opens at 5pm for food Friday and Saturday Night we were fully booked for food, We would therefor advise anyone regardless of where they are staying to pre-book their table. If you had asked during the afternoon while in the bar, we would have happily tried to accommodate you. We Hope this didn’t spoil your stay.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Family, friendly environment. Great park for the children. Staff really helpful and laid back. Great location.

Disliked: Quite expensive for pitch with no electric hook up or showers, however, it was half term and we knew this in advance.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your positive comments, Hopefully the showers will be up and running soon but we have decided against the electric hook ups at present due to rising electricity cost and overheads. Hope this will not put you off a return visit.

Local attractions

After you've whizzed the kids around Oakwood, Folly Farm et al, the Snooty Fox surrounds have quite a bit more to do for family and grownup days out – 'tis Pembrokeshire after all… The market town of Narberth is within about 15 minutes' drive and is a popular place for Pembrokeshire visitors, who come for the independent shops including an award-winning butcher, the several art galleries and the plentiful antiques shops. Drive eight miles or so to the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot for super sands, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, coasteering, climbing and fishing; Tenby's Llys-y-Fran Country Park and Reservoir has an adventure playground if the kids need to let off yet more steam. Lawrenny Yacht club is three miles away.
