General

  • Quiet site on a family smallholding a mile from Narberth
  • 20 minutes' drive from the beaches of Saundersfoot and Pendine
  • Dogs, barbecues and campfires all welcome on site

The treasures of Pembrokeshire are well-documented: gorgeous beaches, fab coastal walking, top theme parks and ancient castles among them. Hole yourselves up for hols at Hideaway Camping, a mile outside of the market town of Narberth, and you’ll be well set for easy access to all of the above.

This is a cunningly convenient spot, centrally placed for visiting attractions all over the county – head south for 20 minutes to hit the beaches of Pendine and Saundersfoot or go west for half an hour to reach the surfers’ faves at Broad Haven and Newgale. The area's top theme parks are both about 15 minutes’ drive away, or you could take a half-hour hike to Narberth Castle. And don’t forget hiking, fishing, golf, sailing, paintballing, boat trips…

And if you need a rest after all that lot? Handily, you may have already divined from the name that Hideaway Camping is a relaxing spot to spend time. There’s plenty of space in the accommodation field for kids to let off steam running about and playing games, and the site is well away from the main road so you’ll get proper peace and quiet.

This is good old traditional camping – one for folks who thrive on the simple pleasures of lighting up a campfire as the stars come out overhead. Light up a barbie for an evening of bangers and beer, or let others do the work (well, you are on hols) by heading down to Narberth for a pub meal or takeaway.

Creature comforts include a laundry facility, a washing-up area with hot water and a toilet block with hot showers. Good news for dog owners here too: friendly hounds are welcome on site and have been provided with their own washing area for the hosing down of mucky pups (less welcome news for the dogs themselves, perhaps...).

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Lovely setting. Peace & Quiet but only minutes from Narberth. Lots of animals for the kids to see. Only one toilet & shower but clean and adequate, if a little pokey for the larger frame. Nice friendly welcome from the owners. Very cheap at just £16 per night for family of 4

A bit late adding a review, but this was what I added to the Hideaway Camping Facebook site.

Just home from a fantasy week away at Hideaway Camping. What an absolutely brilliant camp site!! Safe for the kids to play, Shetland ponies, Alpacas, rabbits and obviously sheep, it is Wales after all!!

Our host, Lesley, for the week was so helpful, and such a different experience to our last few campsites nearer Tenby!

It's a shame our holiday came to an end, but we'll return to Hideaway Camping next year without a doubt!

The views weren't half bad either!! 😁😀

Thank you Lesley, see you next year!! 👍

Really friendly and attentive owner. Nothing was too much trouble, she even gave my boys a bag of marshmallows because we forgot to get some the night we arrived. Nice big pitches with log burners/barbecues allowed. We will be back.

Great location close to lots of local attractions, small and well run with nice clean facilities, limited number of pitches meant even on bank holiday weekend at full capacity it didnt feel overcrowded and there was plenty of space for the children to run around. The owner was friendly and helpful and the highlight for the children was the animals onsite which they were allowed to feed and pet. We wouldn't hesitate to return next year.
