General

  • Scenic site overlooking St Brides Bay
  • A working farm set in open countryside
  • Coarse fishing lake within easy driving distance

Plenty of mighty purty places are in Pembrokeshire. And one of the county's purtiest is St Brides Bay, the mouth of water and coast from Skomer to Ramsey islands – it's part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and has a few Sites of Special Scientific Interest thrown in to boot.

Overlooking this purty lot is Nolton Cross Caravan Park, a mile and a half inland from the hamlet of Nolton Haven, and set in open countryside as part of a working farm.

The kids have plenty of space for ball games on site as well as a play area that's centrally situated to all areas so they can play safely and parents can have peace. A coarse fishing lake with views towards the Preseli Hills is about 500 metres from the park: we'd call this vista mighty purty too.

Great for the coast, plenty of lovely beaches close by, the caravan was clean and warm, we enjoyed our stay and wished it had been for longer, although the weather was bad with lots of rain it didn't stop us enjoying this beautiful area

  • Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

  • Liked:

Mix of grass & gravel pitches with water & electrical hook-ups, we were on gravel which seemed level.
Toilet Waste & Refuse facilities located in the Motorhome/Campervan section of the site.
Laundry facilities, near reception/entrance, with old coin-operated washer & tumble dryer though in good working order.
Site was well maintained, path/drive and some pitches lit at night.

Children's adventure/activity area in the middle of the caravan site.

At the time of our stay, no other Motorhomes/Campervans were pitched so kids & dog had large space to play.

Broad Haven, less than 10mins away, with a great beach for walking the dog and exercising the kids.

    Disliked:

About the only thing I can pick on, and it is minor, is the distance of the washroom/toilets from the Motorhome pitches; it's at the site entrance while the Motorhome/Campervan pitches are at the far end of the site.

great pitch plenty of room ,not too many pitches, individual water supply.
clean, flat, and tidy site, owners very laid back and helpful when asked.

    Disliked:

toilet block right at entrance to campsite right next to caravans [which do not need them].
Perhaps the chemical toilet block near tent pitches could be turned in to toilets, as the weather was very inclement when we stayed and resulted in us having to walk a fair trek, and becoming soaking wet and getting back into a sleeping bag .

Quiet but very accessible site with short (circa 10 min) drives to some beautiful beaches (Broadhaven, Little Haven, Milford Haven, Marloes). Facilities are perfectly adequate for the amount of people staying, but they are a 3 minute walk from the touring pitches - which was fine because it gave me to chance to walk the dog and meet fellow campers. Stunning views, fresh eggs sold on site (these are a must), I've forgotten the ladies name in reception, but she was very helpful and accommodating.
Great kids play area, but I wasn't allowed ........ too old apparently! :-)
Wi-fi is an extra charge ................ EXCELLENT!! No internet, emails - bliss!

    Disliked:

Not sure it's a real dislike because no one can control the weather, but this site is quite exposed and therefore breezy. But with that comes amazing / stunning views, beautiful sunsets and very little light pollution, so if like me you live in a town you will see more stars than you ever have before and if you're lucky the space station too.

Also nearby are St Davids Cathedral and the Bishops Palace, Oakwood Leisure Park, Folly Farm and the country parks of Llysyfran and Scolton Manor. Horse riding, surfing and fishing are all available within three miles.
