Stayed for 10 nights, clean and friendly site. Lovely hot showers. Travelled from Ipswich, owner is helpful with a wealth of information on the local areas. Children made friends and enjoyed themselves. If you forget items (i.e. Our tin opener broke) lots of items to borrow in the washing up room, books to read and games to play. Also a kettle, hair dryer and washing machine to use for a small charge. Could not fault this site. Wi Fi was free and was excellent to use.

Good location. Onsite bar. Great sport for biking in and out of. The facilities were clean. Close to Kendal for restaurants, was a tenner in a taxi

    Disliked:

It was really busy when we checked in and the pitching system seemed to be stressing one of the pitchers who was quite grumpy! Our guy was lovely though!
The wifi system of buying online is terrible! We had to pay several times to get it to work. So bad!

Lovely clean site, great facilities. Love the washroom with equipment for those 'doh I forgot the...' moments! Friendly owner. Lovely and warm washblocks. Really liked the tap at each pitch- brilliant! Beautiful little stream at the bottom of the site and gorgeous footpath up the hills right from the entrance (a bit of a shocker to run up though!! ;-) ) Free WIFI! What a bonus!

    Disliked:

The pictures imply that this site is in the middle of a lovely green valley and it IS if you look in one direction. Unfortunately it's right next to a town and in the other direction there are rows of ugly houses and it is right by a busy road during the day. I really like to feel I'm in the middle of nowhere when I camp so this was a bit of a disappointment. I suspect this is the reason why there are codes on all of the doors and metal grids up at the windows. This is a great site though so I don't want it to seem like a negative review, I'm just a nature purist!

From the manager...

Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again.
Some of our pictures do show the village in the background,we are sorry if we misled you.
If we were in the middle of nowhere there would be no Wi Fi or bus route.
The codes are on the facilities as we have a lot of footpaths in the area and like to keep clean and secure for our visitors. The guards on the windows are to protect them as we are closed from October to April.

The site is tucked away and although you can hear minor road noise you can't see it. Lovely and level, everything we needed, the site was quiet when we visited so we got to choose our own pitch. Will definitely be back, it's very handy for both bridgend and Cardiff.
