General

  • Well-maintained camping pods ten miles from the coast
  • Sleeping up to two adults and three children
  • With adjacent car parking, patio, heating and fully-equipped kitchen

Camping pods in Carmarthenshire – and how pretty (and well-priced) they are too.

West Wales Camping Pods is a small, friendly and most welcoming site on a working farm, with pods sleeping up to two adults and three children, on an area of roughly four by six metres for each pitch.

Each very well-kept and clean pod has its own adjacent car parking space, a patio with a barbecue chiminea, heating, and a kitchen with an electric oven, two-ring hob, a fridge, toaster, kettle, basin, microwave and vegetable steamer. Pans, plates, cutlery and crockery are supplied.

Facilities are sorted in the shower pod which has a basin, shower and loo; there's also a kitchen area with microwave for campers' use. And as it's a working farm, there are plenty of animals around for little podders to see.

Off site, West Wales Camping Pods is on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border and about ten miles from the coast at Amroth.

We booked this very last minute. We have two small children, 3 yrs and 8 months old. A travel cot and highchair were provided free of charge and our dog came too, also free of charge!! The pod’s are spacious and well equipped. The views and the farm are lovely. Eva got to feed the animals and chat with the family who were very friendly and welcoming. The kitchen has everything you need, the toilet and shower room are kept clean and again are well equipped (toilet roll, shower mat, handwash) i would highly recommend the pods for anyone wanting to camp, just not in a tent. Its still very much like camping. The pod, chimnea and kitchen just made it a bit easier with two small children. We went in to Tenby and sandefoot. The beaches were amazing, with cute little shops and loads of choices to grab a bite to eat. Theres a big indoor waterpark/pool called blue lagoon close by, i wish we would of known about this before we went. We took swimming stuff, but you have to pre book tickets online at least the day before. We were too late. I would Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves the-fresh and wants a break from ‘reality’The super friendly family make the stay that bit more personal too. Thanks so much, we loved it. Clean cosy pods (facing east to watch the sunrise), great views and open space for kids to run around. Fantastic owners, very welcoming and keen to show the kids around the farm where they met all the animals and fed the calves.

Very impressed with the camping pods and wash rooms which are all kept very clean by the owners. Kitchen has all you need but you can only cook basic meals which is not a problem of most people. This is camping after all!

I would recommend this site and hope to go back some time in the future myself.

We stayed there last night. And would definitely recommend to family and friends. We met Beth straight away. She so friendly and super helpful... then we went to the pod. Was very clean and tidy. Plenty of space outside on the decking. We really had such a amazing time at the pod. The bbq place was easy and there's a kitchen that has everything you need. It was like home away from home. And then Beth let us feed the animals. It was such an amazing experience. And one we won't forget. We were very lucky to have amazing weather. The stars I have never seen so bright or clear. Honestly if your looking at the review. Don't look any further. Beth and her family are so friendly. It was such a amazing night away. For couples or family. It was worth every penny!

Very peaceful location, especially as we were the only ones booked at the time as everyone had just gone back to school after the summer. Friendly owner and very helpful, although we didn't need to ask for anything as everything was fine. Pod heated up quickly and it wasn't cold at all. Kitchen facilities and bathroom were excellent, there is even a private chimnea and communal bbq area. Lovely views. We had a great time.

    Disliked:

Fold out beds were not very comfortable as they were quite flat and could feel the floor, the blow up mattress took a while to blow up and then slowly went down overnight. But it is camping, so we didn't mind so much.

We had a wonderful two night stay at West Wales Camping Pods and were greeted by the lovely owner Beth on arrival. The pods including the shower and kitchen pod were clean and well equipped with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The pods are very well located to explore many attractions, towns and resorts. The highlights for our children were feeding the animals and roasting marshmallows on the chiminea provided. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Local attractions

There's plenty to do in west Wales, particularly around its fine sandy beaches: too many to mention, but Wiseman's Bridge, Saundersfoot and Coppet are all popular stops. And the Carmarthenshire section of the Wales Coastal Path is very much worth a look, as is utterly beaut Carmarthen Bay.

A fair bit of family fun is around too, at Oakwood Theme Park, the Blue Lagoon Waterpark, Hetherton World of Adventures and Folly Farm, while all ages should like flowing along for a look at the cascades of Cenarth Falls.

See also the peaks and prehistoric trails of the nearby Preseli mountains just over the border in Pembrokeshire, and take a trip around the town of Narberth to have a poke around its shops, art galleries and the Narberth Museum.
