General

  • Well-maintained camping pods ten miles from the coast
  • Sleeping up to two adults and three children
  • With adjacent car parking, patio, heating and fully-equipped kitchen

Camping pods in Carmarthenshire – and how pretty (and well-priced) they are too.

West Wales Camping Pods is a small, friendly and most welcoming site on a working farm, with pods sleeping up to two adults and three children, on an area of roughly four by six metres for each pitch.

Each very well-kept and clean pod has its own adjacent car parking space, a patio with a barbecue chiminea, heating, and a kitchen with an electric oven, two-ring hob, a fridge, toaster, kettle, basin, microwave and vegetable steamer. Pans, plates, cutlery and crockery are supplied.

Facilities are sorted in the shower pod which has a basin, shower and loo; there's also a kitchen area with microwave for campers' use. And as it's a working farm, there are plenty of animals around for little podders to see.

Off site, West Wales Camping Pods is on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border and about ten miles from the coast at Amroth.

Lovely hosts, couldn't do enough for us, took time to show us around the farm and meet the animals. My boys loved bottle feeding the lambs. Nice play area and lots to do within the area. Immaculate shower and toilets with hot water. Communal caravan is fab with everything you need to cook and clean. Very dog friendly.

Owners were very friendly and the location of the pods on a farm was great as kids got to feed the animals. Very pieceful at night. Pod was fine but basic. Chimnea wood provided free of charge. Showers in one pod were provided and were fine

    Disliked:

Communal cooking area in a caravan. Would of liked our own area to cook. Caravan also smelt of old cooking so we refused to go in there

From the manager...

We are so sorry that the stay did not live up to expectations, the communal kitchen is large, with plenty of preparation space and cooking facilities, all communal areas are cleaned on a daily basis.Unfortunately we have no control over what other guests are cooking, however, there is an extractor fan over the oven, the microwave has vents supplied and the windows can be opened.

Absolutely loved it, great location only a few pods with evething you need. Kids had a brilliant time, perfect it’s located on a farm too. Kids loved roasting marshmallows on the camp fire and loved feeding the calf’s and the sheep when Beth came around. Children was crying they didn’t want to come home with definitely be returning.
Loved the fire pit outside the pod to which you can light yourself. We can’t wait to return

Lovely welcoming owners who let our three year old feed the baby calves and lambs. Beautiful place.

Lovely owner Beth was so welcoming which offered a personal touch. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we didn’t get to enjoy the location which in sunshine must be heaven as you have your own veranda and picnic table.
The communal facilities were extremely clean with lovely hot showers in a private pod with a toilet and sink.
Only thing missing was a microwave but that’s not a dealbreaker as there is unlimited free wood and fuel for BBQs and chimnea.
We look forward to returning when we have guaranteed sunshine.
NB There are next to no places to eat nearby other than a chippy and a co-op 10-12 mins drive away

Everything! Owners were so friendly and helpful, our son absolutely loved feeding the calves and lambs. The pods were a great size, with a fridge inside. The caravan on site was great for cooking and sitting in. Unbelievably dog friendly, even a very large field for them to run around in.

Local attractions

There's plenty to do in west Wales, particularly around its fine sandy beaches: too many to mention, but Wiseman's Bridge, Saundersfoot and Coppet are all popular stops. And the Carmarthenshire section of the Wales Coastal Path is very much worth a look, as is utterly beaut Carmarthen Bay.

A fair bit of family fun is around too, at Oakwood Theme Park, the Blue Lagoon Waterpark, Hetherton World of Adventures and Folly Farm, while all ages should like flowing along for a look at the cascades of Cenarth Falls.

See also the peaks and prehistoric trails of the nearby Preseli mountains just over the border in Pembrokeshire, and take a trip around the town of Narberth to have a poke around its shops, art galleries and the Narberth Museum.

Must see

  • National Wool Museum (15.1 miles)
  • Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (17.2 miles)
  • Pembroke Castle (17.6 miles)

National Trust

  • Tudor Merchant's House (13.7 miles)
