  • Compact and friendly adults-only site in the scenic Towy valley
  • Just off the A40, 15 mins' drive from Carmarthen and 10 from Llandeilo
  • Welsh landmarks such as Aberglasney Gardens around five minutes away
Sandwiched between two working dairy farms in a cracking countryside setting is adults-only Towy Valley Caravan Park, with views of the green Carmarthenshire surrounds. It's also in a strategic sightseeing position between the towns of Llandeilo and Carmarthen, and just off the main A40 road. But where to first…? Perhaps have a gander at the gorgeous Edwardian cloister gardens of Aberglasney, just over five minutes’ drive away, or the National Botanic Garden of Wales and its massive single-span glasshouse (it’s the longest in the world…), about 10 minutes away. All those heady floral scents got you feeling the need for another lie-down? Head back to the park – preferably with some treats picked up in Llandeilo, about 10 minutes away, for a meal while watching the sun go down across the valley scenery. Towy Valley Caravan Park has free modern and heated shower and bathroom facilities. Washing-up and chemical disposal facilities are also available, and public transport is accessible from just outside the site if you’d like to travel the region without your vehicle.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The toilet and the shower rooms just blew us away, so clean and in such high quality. Water pressure from the shower head was second to none.

Disliked: The hard surfaces and gravel tops to the pitch are slowly invaded by plants, on a rainy day, muddy shoes are unavoidable.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, I would like to inform you that we deliberately allow the grass to grow through the hard standing areas ,which allows them to blend into the view of surrounding fields .We are in beautiful unspoilt countryside , which is the main reason why people visit the Towy Valley ..

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Peaceful and centrally located site for exploring Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, very helpful & friendly owners, immaculate shower and toilet facilities. Great enclosed doggy garden.

Disliked: When the site is full you may find that the pot washing and toilet facilities are busy. The 2 local pubs have closed down, so not many places to eat out at locally.

From the manager: Thank you for your review . For future campers , two of our local pubs have now re opened.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: The owner, Simon, was really friendly and helpful. We were very late arriving and stressed! But he made us really welcome. The showers were hot and spacious, toilets were really clean. The location was excellent being only about 20 mins from the beach and lots of local pubs. We definitely want to return, highly recommended.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Extremely well managed site. Clean, quiet and well equipped. Site manager Simon is friendly and helpful. Toilets & washrooms are the most modern and clean I have seen in all my travels. I would strongly recommend this site to both caravan and motorhome users. While it is limited in pitches (15) the surrounding are beautiful and the site is quiet and tranquil. Could be back next year !

Disliked: Night time lighting around the shower / toilet areas would be a benefit.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. The lights outside the shower are now working as they should . Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We look forward to seeing you again at Towy Valley.

Liked: The toilets were very well designed and clean. The showers were also clean and water temperature was perfect. The amenities were very well organised. We meet Simon who met and greeted us. He communicated well via text beforehand and showed us around all the facilities in an efficient and approachable manner. Good to see they care about the environment with the recycling bags. The pitches were well laid out and flat. Although off the A40 the site is tucked back and was very quiet. The security of this site is good too.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Owner very helpful and friendly, nice little site with clean toilets/washroom. Nice little secure dog walking area. Would’ve been lovely if it were sunny but as I was only staying for one night as visiting relatives in the area, I didn’t stay any longer.

Disliked: The sites Internet did not work but that’s probably because of being in the hills of Wales

Local attractions

The Towy Valley is home to a clutch of excellent Welsh sights, from the hilltop Dinefwr Castle, a 15-minute drive away (climb up to the walls for stunning views over the countryside), to the sweeping estuary and castle at the pretty village of Laugharne (half an hour). Another must-see castle, Carreg Cennen, sits on the top of a limestone precipice around a 20-minute drive away, with views across the Brecon Beacons National Park; get your hiking boots on for walks around this area, one of Wales’ most postcard-worthy, passing by waterfalls and ponds enroute. (Still more appetite for castles? Drive to Dryslwyn Castle in five minutes – or hike over in about 45 minutes.) If you’re feeling lazy, drive to Carmarthen (20 minutes from the site) instead to jump on the Gwili Steam Railway’s antique train or dip in and out of the boutiques. Love a legend? Locals reckon Merlin was born in this market town – there are even the remains of an old oak tree named after the wizard in the foyer of St. Peter’s Civic Hall.
