Well. We might have to say that Plassey Leisure Park is pretty much perfect, even for picky peeps. The family-run and five-star Wrexham park has received plenty of plaudits over the years: it’s been voted Best Park in Wales (three times), got gongs for its commitment to conservation and sparkingly clean loos and – our fave – won awards for its own real ale, Dragon’s Breath strong bitter. Fire up the motorhome and get going.
Plassey’s location is pretty classy too, near the villages of Overton and Bangor-on-Dee, a paltry thirteen miles from Chester and with views on site over the Dee Vallley: sit in the garden with a cream tea from the coffee shop and drink in…
There’s stacks more to do on site whatever your inclination: start off at the craft and retail centre in the Edwardian buildings for free events and essential shopping; there’s the award-winning licensed Shippon restaurant here too serving up fresh local produce, and a hair and beauty studio for park pampering.
If you prefer to burn off energy, there’s also free coarse fishing available at the Plassey lake, a nine-hole golf course (with licensed clubhouse), a heated indoor pool, a couple of miles of footpaths, a badminton court and table tennis: take yourself off to the sauna afterwards for some virtuous steaming.
Plassey pitches have electric hook-up and there are deluxe serviced pitches on site too, with water, electric, waste water disposal and digital/satellite TV services. The spotless amenities are centrally heated and have individual washrooms, disabled facilities, and a parent and baby washroom.
We do not accept bookings from single-sex parties of hen or stag groups, teenage groups, or groups of more than 3 units.
