General

  • Glamping on the edge of Snowdonia National Park
  • Deep in green countryside but with easy access to activities
  • Camp kitchen and firepits included

Cae’r Boncath is a glamping site on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, part of a smallholding among peaceful and green countryside between the mountains and the sea. It's a sheltered and quiet spot in a wildlife haven, named after the buzzards that nest in the adjacent bluebell wood, and with over 50 species of birds spied (so far) around the site and its surroundings.

Although it's deep in countryside for relaxing stays, Cae'r Boncath has easy access to plenty of attractions and activities for those who want to take things up a notch: this is apopular area for walkers, climbers, paddlers and riders, with footpaths, quiet roads and bridleways lead you through scenic countryside and on up into the Snowdonia mountains. The site has secure bike storage as well as shelter and turnout for horses for guests if needed.

Cae'r Boncath's five-metre bell tents are raised on platforms and have a double bed and two single futon mattresses (if required) each. The tents also have their own compost toilets, solar outdoor showers (available in high season), camp kitchens with gas cooker, and firepits for nights under the stars.

When available, free-range eggs and free-range pork (sausages, bacon, chops, belly etc), vegetables and fruit can be bought from the site owners. Freshly baked bread can be ordered for the mornings and there are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.

We only stayed for one night but had an excellent time! Nice, secluded location with plenty of personal space away from other campers.

Very clean and well kept with a beautiful and comfy bed! We came with very little but everything was provided. All kitchen items including cups/plates and a stove. Wood and kindling was provided for the fire pit as well as camp chairs.

We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful few days staying at this glamping site. The location is perfect for those who want a real get away break from everyone else, and is a very secluded and peaceful countryside hideout. The yurt was spacious with a comfy bed and had lovely attention to details such as fresh flowers, candles and hot water bottles. Extra blankets had been provided as well as it was going to be a cold few nights. We had read previous reviews and took our own blankets hot water bottles and hats etc just in case, so we were very cosy.

The kitchen shed was great with everything you could have needed. It was clean and tidy when we got there, with extra space to put some of the stuff we had brought with us as well.

The outside toilet was good, a compost eco set up with a gas shower. The whole area was ideal with lots of space - however we had the bottom yurt which was a lot more out the way so I would recommend booking that one of you can.

We had a warm welcome and we're shown around our area and then left to our own devices for the rest of the stay which was great. When we needed some advice in the local area they were happy to help.

We will definitely be going back, spreading the word and taking some friends too.

As a young couple who've never been camping apart from with parents as children we felt slightly under prepared however this site had everything we needed. This includes a fully furnished kitchen with working cooker, to an outdoor shower area and toilet, which may be a good time to add how clean everything was including the actual pod itself, the bedding and floor looked new and unused it was that clean. There is a fire pit which sets you up for the most amazing atmosphere of sitting round a campfire which we used to make s'mores.
The campsite has its own friendly horse who is always coming to say hello & really likes bread....
The owners couldn't of been better from supplying us with more firewood at a small fee, to even setting up the fire for us as we weren't sure how to do it.
Another thing which we really liked is they completely leave you to it, however they are just a door knock away, which we utilised to ask for some playing cards and for more lanterns as it gets super dark...obviously.
The campsite is in absolute picturesque scenery and it is silent at nighttime/all times apart from the expected wildlife noise which only adds to the experience.
During the trip we visited hurleck(not sure on the spelling) beach and bounce below which where both 50-60 minute journeys however, wherever you visit surrounding this campsite has the most beautiful views so you really don't mind long journeys. *few tips* bring hot water bottles for under the duvets of the super comfy beds.
*bring gloves/hats to sleep in..might be an obvious one however something we didn't think of please bare in mind we went in the middle of October.
*we brought a wireless speaker and played music really low around the campfire which I would say is a must.
We will 100% recommend this to friends and family as we had an amazing weekend!
