  • Busy family park within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl
  • Close to the beach at Abergele
  • Pool, playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway
Thrills in Rhyl or getting out to play in Colwyn Bay: both are in easy reach of Ty Mawr Holiday Park on the north Wales coast – along with gorgeous beaches, market towns, charismatic castles, and the inspiring scenery of the Welsh mountains. This buzzing, family-oriented park is great for kids: they’ll spend hours whizzing down the flume into the indoor pool and running around the large outdoor playground, and can join Sparky the rabbit and his Krew in the free kids’ clubs for all ages. There are also plenty of organised sports activities on offer. In the evenings, the whole family can enjoy a knees-up at the all-singing, all-dancing entertainment bar, where live bands and cabaret make a regular appearance, as well as fun theme nights and competitions. The various food options on site include plenty of takeaway choices at the Rendezvous diner and the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Modern amenities include toilets, showers and heated changing areas.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Club and entertainment. Friendly staff. Security

Disliked: Wifi is almost non existent unless paid for, even in the club area. Not good enough this day and age when other sites are putting boosters to cover the entire site. Water taps are about 4-5ft above ground and without a hose attached. Almost impossible to fill my aqua roll without having to pick it up.

Warren electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Simple booking in process

Disliked: Waterlogged and almost unusable pitch. It was extremely difficult to get on to the pitch and got stuck half on/half off Stayed overnight and attempted to move in the morning - Stuck again. Managed to get moved enough to avoid the worst of the mud with the help of three other groups pushing. On the morning of leaving we had to get help yet again because we were well and truly stuck in the mud. Had we have been warned that the site was in this waterlogged state we would not have travelled around a 100 miles to spend 3 days in muddy almost swamp like conditions but have got there and imediately got stuck we were left with little choice. We had our 8 year old Grandaughter with us and had to keep her in the motorhome most of the time.

Warren electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Swimming pool for the kids, good shower/toilet block. The girls at the reception were great as well as the field workers, helping everyone to get unstuck off the mud with the tractor.

Disliked: Too busy for our liking, maybe makes sense for the fixed caravan rentals, but far too crowded for camping/motorhoming. There are no hardstand pitches and the grass ones were not suitable for any vehicles. All motorhomes depended on tractor help to get in and out, getting stuck in the mud otherwise. Crowds of teenagers making impossible for younger kids to play, even on small children playgrounds. Would not return.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The site has lots of things for kids to do. Clean site, close to the bus stops.

Disliked: Had a long wait at the reception. The area set out for tourers /caravans is really disappointing, from nice tarmac roads in the static caravan area to a really rough gravel road. Gave us the impression that we were 2nd class. It was so muddy we had to be towed out. The gents toilets had no soap and we were there for 3 nights, not good. The cost of a pint of beer was more than £6

Meadows electric grass touring pitch (large)

Liked: Staff were friendly. Food was lovely (but expensive) Nice variety of activities

Disliked: We originally booked a camping pitch but the field was unusable for us as it was waterlogged so we had to pay to upgrade to a lodge. The pool was closed nearly every day, the one time we got in it was freezing and we had to leave immediately.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Grass was a tad boggy but it’s weather permitting so not the campsites fault. Really had an amaizing time & plenty of good people sharing the same site. Honestly I highly recommend it here. The staff couldn’t go wrong & they was sooooo helpful. 10/10 from me. Entertainment was fab & the kids really enjoyed it all 5 days of it. A big thank you to all the staff & fellow campers. See you next year (fact) 👍🏼

Disliked: No bad words 👍🏼

Warren electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Facilities good and entertainment venue also good. Ground staff brilliant but can't be said for all staff.

Disliked: Pitch was awful waterlogged. Had to be put on pitch by tractor and removed by tractor. The ground conditions were terrible and couldn't level motorhome. Shouldn't have been let out in this condition.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Clean showers

Disliked: I arrived here on Saturday after they've had a lot of rain but instead of contacting us and cancelling the booking they decided to put us on a water logged pitch that the caravan ended up sinking down to the floor (about 8 inches). We ended up leaving early due to the fact even just walking to the caravan from the gravel road (about 12foot) my feet was soaked cause the mud was sucking my feet in and water was coming over the tops of my boots, when I did leave my caravan had to be towed out by a tractor (according to the driver they was towing 70+ cars, caravans and motorhomes out per day this week) on the way home then spare wheel ended up coming off from under the caravan (presumably from damage received whilst it was towed off the pitch) luckily noone was hurt. The site wardens said on Sunday (they was a nice couple) that the site should of been shut down but noone had listened to them and they was banging their heads against a brick wall the 6meter by 6 meter pitches ended up reduced to 4x6 (where I was) and there was no gap at all between my caravan and the motorhome behind me so if a fire had broke out both would of gone up alone with at least the caravan at side of me. The evening entertainment was only entertaining if you was deaf the singers ( I don't expect the best in the business but expect them to be able to actually sing in sync or a key) the 1st night I went into the show bar they just sung badly but was barrable the following night they just seemed to of turned the mikes and volume right up so you couldn't even hear the backing music and they was that out of sync I'm sure it was planned. The bar was a rip off £9.98 for a pint of Coors and a small lemonade(most of it ice). Swimming (the only free activity) there is on site was fully booked for the week apart from 2 days everything else was £7+ for 30 min. The showers was clean and hot but had the water pressure of dripping tap. I chose this site cause of good reviews but either it's gone down hill very quickly or park dene have been putting their own reviews on
