Nice but shame about toilet waste and Cafe not open at said times 20/07/2017

Tidy and clean and quiet guests were friendly and respectful of others. Lovely area and location. Girls in office very friendly and helpful.

    Disliked:

The cafe closed very early on both evenings 7pm and opened too late on both mornings of our stay 9.30 meaning we couldn't use it.
People emptying their toilet waste in the shower block toilets. It was dripped over the floor and unbearable smell for days after making using the toilet and showering impossible. The office was closed so could not make them aware at the time.

    Flat concrete pitch.
    Toilets Showers and Laundrette clean
laundrette had a 'Belfast Sink' which we were able to use to wash up

    Staff helpful and pleasant

    Disliked:

Pitch designed for small(ash) caravan and not a motor home> Although we carry a fairly long hose, we were unable to draw water from the single tap, which was located behind a short row of caravans. (we always travel with a half tank of fresh water. There was not discharge point for 'grey water'. Resturant not open but Chinese take away across the road.

    Nice walk into towyn.

    Disliked:

There's not much for young children to do.
There was only 1 pitch available as the other pitches are occupied by long term residents.
The 1 pitch that was available is not suitable to put an awning up, as there is a large box in the way.

Staff in cafe were excellent, husband went for a drink and service was more than you could expect - very accommodating.

    Disliked:

Site smelt awful! Drains were bad. Toilets were really dirty, were dirty on arrival and were not cleaned at any point during our stay. No ELSAN facilities for toilet waste. Only 1 tap for water with no grey waste facilities. Bins were were a 3 minute drive away at the back of the site. We were told on arrival that dogs weren't allowed on the touring part of the site, it does not state this anywhere on the website or paperwork I was emailed, kindly they allowed us to stay with our dog.

From the manager...

We are sorry you did not have an entirely positive experience. The smell on Saturday was actually an issue unrelated to the park and was reported to the council. It was a temporary issue in the local area. We have toilets and showers in the touring area but do not have an Elsan facility. There are always a few bins in the touring area but if there is a shortage we would be happy to bring out an extra bin if we are notified in reception.

The site was clean and tidy. The toilet and shower block was clean and tidy. The other people on the campsite were very friendly, and happy to help if needed, and made us feel very welcome. It's a quite site and the touring part of it is small, it does have a cafe on the site which looked nice but unfortunately we didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. There is a route straight onto the coastal path at the back of the site, which is a tarmac path so ideal for my son who had brought his scooter along. We had a leisurely walk up to Towyn town centre, where there was a funfair, amusements and plenty of seaside shops and places to get something to eat. It also was a very safe site, i felt very confident in letting my 8 year old play out with others he had just met. The location is good as it's between Rhyll and Llandudno. Bodelwyddan castle is about 4 miles away which we just didn't have enough time to go in however we are planning a return visit to the area in the future to do more sightseeing, we drove to Snowdon which took about 45 mins to get there. So it's an ideal place to have as a base and travel onwards from.

    Disliked:

There was no designated area to wash our pots so had to either wash them in the toilet block, which i don't like to do or collect water from there and bring back to our camper. As we were there for only 2 nights it wasn't really an issue but i suspect if we had been there a bit longer it would've become a pain. Also i think it would be a good idea for the cafe to have tokens for the showers as you can only buy them from the reception and this is not always open.
