Great location, so easy to get too, via the A1.
Edinburgh just 30 mins drive away, Dunbar 5 mins, with a great leisure centre/pool and harbour.

    Disliked:

Weren't given a full site map, so didn't have chance to explore the site fully, when we tried, we got lost; massive site.

When the pool was clean filthy wet floors on the Friday 11/08/17 but Saturday 12/08/17 immaculate think it depends on I think Friday night girl spent 99%of her time on her phone but attendant on Saturday was fantastic pleasant and pro active.

    Disliked:

Well where do I start toilets and showers disgusting therefore just used our caravans facilities as there was no way I was taking my grandchildren in. Park was ok but litter all around. And if you go you must love thy neighbour as you are uncomfortably close to them!! The noise from club house take ear plugs but you cannot block out the boom boom boom of the music. Chain down your water barrel and waste container as some were stolen on the Saturday night and Manager not interested. When you arrive you can play spot your pitch as markers on ground and there is 2 different maps and numbers don't correspond!
My advice is get rid of touring part of the park as nobody appears interested in it even the guy who was ment show us where to pitch didn't have a clue . Wondering who appointed the park four stars are they self appointed??

Pleasant site staff very friendly no problems with pitch level enough and great reception for TV

    Disliked:

At 10 -2 am there was a dog barking all night then there was aggressive shouting for a while with no sign of security intervention
Then again the following night the caravan across from us the owner had went to the club then came back about 12 that's when the loud conversation and laughter started and lasted until after 4am
    Again no security intervention

I am on walking sticks and in the evening I needed to go to the toilet only to find out I needed a key
I hadn't been told about this and it would have been handy to have instead of what happened
I had being seeing lots of people who obviously weren't disabled using the disabled toilet with keys that I felt I should've had

The site is well laid out. Well stocked shop. We didnt use leisure facilites this time but they looked good and will in future. Best point is I'm coeliac and it was great being offered gluten free food with no fuss. Well done kitchen. Also bar staff were very helpful.

    Disliked:

Not disliked but slightly dissapointed that organised entertainment only seems to be at weekend and as our trip was midweek would have liked there to have been something. Even if it was just bingo.

Local attractions

You won’t find yourselves thirsting for action at Thurston Manor; there are lots of inspiring places to visit in East Lothian, Berwickshire and beyond.

Peer at the puffins and gawk at the gannets at the Scottish Seabird Centre - you can zoom in on the nesting colonies on the islands (including Bass Rock, home to a gobsmacking 150,000 gannets) using the Centre’s interactive live cameras, or zoom off on a boat trip to see them in the flesh/feathers, along with grey seals and dolphins if you’re lucky.

For more fresh air fun, there are clifftop walks, castle ruins, picnicking and pony trekking across the grassland, woods and salt marshes at John Muir Country Park in nearby Dunbar. Or you could go for a clamber around Tantallon Castle, a majestic fourteenth century stronghold in a photogenic location atop the cliffs overlooking the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock. Not to mention the magnificent golf courses, fishing, horse riding, yachting and water sports in the surrounding area.

Whisky lovers will definitely want to make a pilgrimage to the nearby Glenkinchie Distillery, which has an excellent visitor centre and guided tours as well as tastings (and a discount in the shop is included in the very reasonable entrance fee).

Last but not least, the brilliant and bonny city of Edinburgh is only 25 miles away...
