With our site situated next to the River Blackwater and some of the Munro mountains almost on the doorstep, as well as great fishing, hiking and mountain biking in close proximity, Riverside Caravan Park really is a special place. Everyone is drawn to the river here, not only to watch our local heron who loves to fish on our stretch of the river but also to enjoy paddling and even swimming. In the sky you will also spot the red kites that are a common in the area. Guests can enjoy fishing from the campsite (please ensure you catch and release).
Our campsite is in the highland village of Contin, about 18 miles from Inverness and Loch Ness. There are regular buses to the village from Inverness and we have a bus stop just outside the site for those that do not have a car or would prefer to leave their car on site.
Contin, Strathpeffer is in the centre of the Scottish Highlands so an ideal base for exploring all that they have to offer: Loch Ness, Inverness, Glenurquhart Castle, the whisky trails, Isle of Skye and Aviemore to name but a few. This is a perfect location for hikers and will appeal to people who want to explore the Munros (Munro bagging).
The camping is next to the river and is a really tranquil spot with plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife. The holiday park is adjacent to the local grocery shop and post office. The village also has a garage and the Coul House Hotel which has excellent lounge bar and restaurant facilities.
In addition to that, our on-site holistic therapist can also offer a range of treatments such as reflexology, holistic massage, reiki, Karuna and metamorphic technique to name but a few.
This campsite is in new hands and is going to be family-run. Fresh pastries and food will be available for campers to buy most mornings during busy seasons.
We are also in partnership with Trees for Life if you are looking for a holiday with a conservation theme.

It's now possible to make group bookings on Pitchup.com for up to 30 adults and 30 children.
As long as the 'one unit per pitch' rule is not highlighted on the pitch type information (please check this before completing your booking), you will be able to pitch your tents together on one booking.
If you are not satisfied with the results generated, try breaking your booking down for more options. For example, if you're a group of 10, enter five people for your initial search and book two pitches. Use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together when booking multiple pitches or accommodation units: the campsite or park will try to grant your request.
Before booking, please check the listing page for any group restrictions. These normally appear in a section titled 'Please note'. Please also check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit - especially for a large party - is suitable for the space you will be provided with.
